Details for the construction of the Tabernacle span almost a third of the book of Exodus. Keeping in mind that this is to be the sacred place where God will meet and converse with His family, why do you think the plans are so elaborate?
Like an architect designing his dream house for his family, God plans the Tabernacle in such a way that the Israelites will be caught up into something immensely beautiful and larger than themselves, when they see it. God's purpose is not merely opulence. God pays close attention to every detail and to the larger meaning the Tabernacle signifies. He wants His family gathering place to be perfect. A sign of His presence with Israel and His love, mercy and compassion for them.
