The Stone In Your Hands

For a minute take this journey with me. Let’s go back thousands of years passed to the foothill of Mount Sinai. Let’s voyage to the page of the Bible where it records “the shining face of Moses”. Such a glorious sight, Moses carrying stone tablets, his face shining radiantly as he walks down exhausted but bright. Let’s be a spectator of that sight for a second. That remarkable sight of the great commandment is meant for condemnation, Paul says.

“For if the ministry of condemnation had glory, the ministry of righteousness exceeds much more in glory. For if what is passing away was glorious, what remains is much more glorious.” (2 Corinthians 3:9&11).

He adds, the ministry we hold as new testament believers are much more glorious than that. Glorious because this is a ministry of righteousness, this is a ministry that remains for eternity. This ministry that you and I are entrusted with.

As Israelites beheld Moses’s shining face the glory was fading away. Moses covered his face every time he spoke with Israelites as his face was too bright to look at, but more importantly that shining was fading away. He knew! I assume, that his ministry will pass away. Pass away as the real glory appears on the scene. The glorious ministry of righteousness that is secured by the righteous sacrifice of Christ.

My friend, have you ever imagined as though you are carrying a splendid stone with the message, as you declare the good news to the unsaved soul?

Stone with the,

Message of righteousness,

Message that is entrusted to you,

Message that never passes away,

Message that is much more glorious than the mount Sinai’s message.

Message that is much splendid than the shining face of the great Moses.

I have never gone through that much imagination until now.

But now, I can’t help but wonder, if this would change the way I look at every gospel convention, every evangelist in the street, every church board that preaches the magnificent message of righteousness.

Tell me, is int this truly remarkable as “We all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.” (2 Corinthians 3: 18) Holding on to and boldly preaching this glorious message that truly “exceeds much more in glory” than anything else mankind had ever witnessed.
