The Sadness, Misery, Compassion, Frustration, And Anger Of The Father In Heaven

Recently a friend introduced me to an understanding of the writings of the Prophets in Scripture, in which it is suggested that the predominant expression within is the sadness of the Father, in His misery, because of His compassion, and frustration and anger, about the terrible situation His favorite people chose to enter against His Will. This coherence is very new to me, but I am very blessed in it, the Lord gives me much good to live in these thoughts. I find I have much more peace and increasingly so, knowing that the Father is considerably more unhappy about many things we all know around us, than we can possibly be.

Something which has struck me very hard in this, is the fact that unlike many other areas of the Bible, for the most part the Prophets are less about background history, and almost not at all about morality plays either stated or implied: in other words, they are concerned less with stories in which events occur, and consequences made clear, and happy or sad results obtain for our benefit. They have something different at their center, more like soliloquy by Shakespeare, or possibly like Marc Antony's speech in Julius Caesar where the whole crowd was turned on a dime, except it's real and the Father is the One at the center of it all. Not a series of events, not object lessons, not narrative with morals; rather, expressions of emotion of the Father Himself, in His deliberate effort to help anyone who might want to do so, understand His perspective about things happening and about to happen very soon at the time of the writings.
