Experiencing the God of Joy: By centering our lives around Christ, we can experience true joy. "According to my earnest expectation and my hope, that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but that with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether it be by life, or by death. For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain." —Philippians 1:21

At best, 80% of white evangelicals only give lip service to the pledge but flatly reject the fundamentals of not only America - but those the Lord Jesus Christ.

So I find such "prostrations" really sort of pathetic to read - since I know most prostrators do not really have a clue other than some pseudo-patriotic sort of reflection of their own ego - rather than a genuine commitment to American values, ideals, customs and purposes.

LORD bring a revival in our nation. May all your people turn to God and submit their will to that of the Almighty God. People of this nation and all around the world, open your eyes and ears to be filled with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. In the Power of the Holy Spirit. God's will be done. In Jesus' name. Amen.

LORD, bring us a national revival for believers to turn back to God and for unbelievers to find salvation in Christ Jesus. Father God, bless this nation, and our leaders, with your wisdom and lovingkindness. Praise the LORD. Amen.

Thank you again. This is soooooo needed. And that is an absolutely beautiful picture of our flag waving in the breeze with a sunrise or sunset shining through it.

God bless you, and Godspeed, my brother. Praying for our country, our President, and all of us, the American people, that His people will rise up and and unify in our country at such a time as this. Father may it be so, in Jesus name, amen.

    And God bless our military.

God bless all the men and women serving (past and present) in the U.S. Armed Forces. They take an oath affirming to serve and protect our nation (The U.S. Constitution). All glory, honor, and praise to the LORD.

Amen, brother. God bless you. Praying for our nation and all of the people. May God protect and defend this nation, under Him, and may His people who are called by His name, rise up in His strength and call on His name, again. May He breathe on us again. Father may it be so, in Jesus name, amen.

God’s Word commands Christians to be good citizens of the country in which they live. He has set civil governments over all people. In Romans 13:1, the apostle Paul stated that every Christian should "be subject unto the higher powers." However, we understand that our foremost allegiance is to God.

We pledge allegiance to our flag (or to the nation it represents) only to the extent that the civil government does not require us to disobey God’s laws, either deliberately or inadvertently (Acts of the Apostles 5:29).

I am good with being a "good citizen" - and, as Paul called us -"to live in peace with all men". Sadly, I do not see the American evangelical fulfilling that calling.

I don't think being a good citizen has anything to do with pledging allegiance to a flag. Regardless, I have no problem with committing to be a good citizen in the name of Jesus Christ.
