The Lily of the Valley

JESUS, THE LILY OF THE VALLEY

~GRACE~
As I gazed at this picture I wondered, why is He referred to as this lily?
When reading this keep in mind: The number six stands for both the end of labor and man/humanity. In Song of Solomon 2:1-3, we have word portraits of Jesus, one of them is: Lily of the Valley. Song of Solomon is a picture of mutual love between Christ and His Bride, The Redeemed. Notice this flower has six petals. In scripture six represents finished labor; God made man on the sixth day of creation. Jesus said on the cross: It is finished. His work for man's salvation was complete the day He offered up Himself. When we look on the inside we see six stamens surrounding one pistil. For all of man kind there is only one Savior, Jesus the Christ. At the base of the flower we see six white ovals with crimson surrounding each one. Christ covers man kind with His blood to make humanity pure. (Gen.1:31 Gen.2:2 Ex.20:9 Jn.19:30 Gen.1:27) The flower is shimmering white. White represents purity. Jesus who is without sin, is the sacrificial Lamb of God that is without blemish, pure and Holy. (Dan.12:10 Rev.7:14 Is.1:18 1 Peter1:19) Lily of the Valley is a bulbous plant that will reproduce itself over and over, covering the ground. The Holy One sacrificed Himself once, making many righteous. Producing and multiplying over the generations of humanity thereby covering the earth with God's sons and daughters. This fragrant flower is used in many perfumes. Here's a few that use this flower as a key ingredient: Ann Kline, Christian Doir, Gucci and Armani. Jesus is a "sweet smelling savior" to God. Eph. 5:2 The lily is bell shaped and hangs downward, as the bells did on the priestly garments of the Old Testament. Jesus is our High Priest. (Heb. 8:1 Heb. 9:1) The leaves have lines in them. We learn God's wisdom and knowledge a little at a time. Line upon line, line upon line, here a little, there a little. (Is. 28:10)
When we enter into a dark valley we can be sure Jesus is there with us, making intercession for us as our High Priest and offering us the pleasant lines of His Word. When we fail, we can remember the lines of stripes on His body and know that we can be forgiven: For the sweetness of His Son's sacrifice is a well pleasing aroma to God. His work of grace continues to be multiplied; Covering the earth, increasing His kingdom and bringing to Jesus the rewards of His suffering.
I give glory to God for showing me Jesus as the Lily of the Valley.
