Ok, I might harp on this a bit much in this book but this is a HUGE and important part of this book. If you want to don your pair of God Goggles you have to learn to recognize both the good and the bad, the light and the darkness, our God and satan. It is just like being in law enforcement. In LE you have to love the law and all things right but you also have to learn how to think like a criminal at times. In doing this, you learn how to expect, prepare, notice, tune in, and anticipate situations and the criminal mind. In being a soldier of Christ, you need to know how the opposition works to do the same thing.
SO, you may have heard this before but something to remember and to NEVER forget is that satan can perform miracles also. He can bless you too, if you wanna call that blessings. The Bible says he can even appear as an angel of light. For instance, lots of people are living life and going to church weekly. They might live in a nice big house and drive a nice car. They might have great friends and not much trouble. They may think they love the Lord and walk with Him. But, if they do not spend time with God daily, if they are not telling others of Christ and spreading his love, if there are other evidences that show that they are not walking with God.... they may think all their blessings are coming from God and they are not. They could be being blessed by satan to keep them complacent and make them feel all is ok. We have a saying in our home: "If ya got trouble, satan's got troubles". This means if you are actually making a difference for Christ, satan will come after you. Man, I cannot tell you how much trouble we have had since my husband gave his life Fully to Christ in 2009. You wanna talk about problems! Before that, life was pretty good, not great, but certainly nothing like our lives lately. I heard Chip Ingram telling a story during a sermon once. If you have not listened to him preach check him out in our appendix section. Anyways, in this sermon he was talking about the times before he had really gotten known preaching, during his early early years. It think he might have said it was his first year. I'm not sure... anyways, what stuck out to me was that he said that year alone they had 27 Negative and trying things happen to their family including his wife having back surgery! 27 things. MAN! Our family has had a lot of hard things since 2009 also. We just count it all blessings. The more trouble the more we must be making a difference. Ever wonder how come those in Hollywood are doing so well, or well, people period who just look like the world is great for them? Look and see what they are or are not doing for God. For years I had no clue that pastors were hit so much. They are. They just don't talk about it. They take it to God. So, Don't just rest in the fact that all is well in your life.
Inserted: Our own family since starting this project has gone through like 40 plus difficulties as well from 24 flat tires to car trouble, marriage trouble and divorce L , fire in our home, just you name it. It’s been a difficult ten years but BUT I know God is getting glory in seeing how I respond even when I fail. God knows! Just hang on through the storms and pray. Even if you fail daily remember Jesus is enough and never fails us.
When you see a miracle, an answered prayer, or really anything you have to consider where it is coming from. NEVER ASSUME whatever you are seeing is from one or the other. Now do not fret or get worried about how in the world you are going to figure this out. We are going to learn together with God in this project. God gives us reason and peace to walk with Him and grow with Him. It seems scary at the time but if we truly believe He is there for us then we can rest in that.
5 Let your reasonableness be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand; 6 do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. 7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Phillipians 4 ESV
I love the verse above. It flat out says Let Your Reasonableness be known to everyone and that God will Guard our Hearts and Minds Through Christ Jesus. Isn't that good?????? Love it.... I rest in this verse.
In writing this book, I have even questioned and asked God to be very specific in showing me just who the answered prayers and where miracles are coming from that have happened in my own life. I have even questioned God to make sure He wants me to write this book at all. This is so important! satan could be making all sorts of things happen for you and you are just coasting along in life thinking the world is peachy when in fact you are being deceived. I have figured out times when I was deceived - which in fact is pretty darn serious. All our souls are at stake so its of utter importance that we learn to tune in and tweak our radars as soon as possible.
In taking part in the God Goggles project you will learn how to determine whether the things you are seeing are of God or of satan's lies.
Don't Seek Signs for FAITH
In learning how to use the God Goggles project I want you to make sure and check your motives at hand. Are you looking for proof that Christ is real? Are you seeking signs to prove so you will believe and have faith? Then do NOT use this book. Stop everything you are doing and take time to get right with God. That kind of motive is risky. Read the Bible verses below:
4 An evil and adulterous generation seeks for a sign, but no sign will be given to it except the sign of Jonah.” So he left them and departed. Matthew 16:4 ESV
Christ wants us to believe and have faith without seeing. When you accept Him as your personal Savior He sends the Holy Spirit to be with you. You need no other sign at all. If you go through this book and finish the project you may choose to ask Him to show you more things that are Spiritual. That is ok, once you have faith to start with. Honestly, in order to trust in God you must have faith like a child. He said so. In order to see the spiritual realm you must have faith like a child. This is why children can see more than adults do. Their faith is strong. Do not be like the Pharisees Jesus spoke about:
The Pharisees Demand a Sign 11 The Pharisees came and began to argue with him, seeking from him a sign from heaven to test him Mark 8:11 ESV
12 And he sighed deeply in his spirit and said, “Why does this generation seek a sign? Truly, I say to you, no sign will be given to this generation.” Mark 8:12 ESV
The Bible states that those who believe in our God will have the oppotunity to do these things below, but only after they believe, and only if its God's will.
16 Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. 17 And these signs will accompany those who believe: in my name they will cast out demons; they will speak in new tongues; 18 they will pick up serpents with their hands; and if they drink any deadly poison, it will not hurt them; they will lay their hands on the sick, and they will recover.”
19 So then the Lord Jesus, after he had spoken to them, was taken up into heaven and sat down at the right hand of God. 20 And they went out and preached everywhere, while the Lord worked with them and confirmed the message by accompanying signs. Mark 16:16-20 ESV
And, furthermore, you may not have to do wild or extraordinary things like the verses above state but you do have the power of the Holy Spirit within you! You can walk with Christ and be aware of His presence in your heart at all times
God allows signs, miracles, and very Amazing things to happen in His children's lives. I believe He does this in everyone's lives. It's our choice to learn how to recognize them and attribute those miracles and answered prayers to Him. He does these things so He can get the glory, not us. He loves our needing to pray to Him and ask for Help. He loves being involved with us. He can do signs, but don't let your faith fail because of a lack of amazing miracles. It might take a while for you to experience a recognizable sign or answered prayer. Do not give up on God because of that. Everything He does He does for a reason. Everything.
28 And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good,for those who are called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28 ESV
He is making and molding us. If it takes a while for you to hear Him then He is working on your patience and faith. There have been times when I could audibly hear Him and saw miracles once a month. Then, there have been times when I could not. During those times I had to check myself and see if there was anything I was doing that would make God stay further from me. Also, I had to see if He was growing my patience and faith. He isn't all about just showing you miracles. We learn through the good and the bad in life. If there was no bad times, sad times, difficult challenging times, we would not appreciate when He does show up. Those sad and lonely times are what makes us more attune to when He does work. Praise Him in the storm and see what He does!
A last warning, do not listen to someone who says they can do signs or make miracles happen but want you to follow a God other than our God, Jesus. Read the chapter on testing the spirits. You MUST test the spirit or soul of the person or spirit you are dealing with. YOU MUST DO THIS. If they are not of God, just because they can make something happen does not mean they are of God. Even when Jesus Himself comes back... my Mimi used to say something like this: "I don't give a hill of beans for when Jesus comes back unless He shows me those scars on His hands and His feet, I'm not gonna believe in Him!" I loved her so much. I think that someone could even fake those signs but what she meant was she wanted proof of even when Christ returns that it is Him. She knew you must test whoever it is that is saying whatever, you must become like a detective for a police department. You must know why, how, what, when, and where those signs are coming from and being manifested. See verses below:
13 “If a prophet or a dreamer of dreams arises among you and gives you a sign or a wonder, 2 and the sign or wonder that he tells you comes to pass, and if he says, ‘Let us go after other gods,’ which you have not known, ‘and let us serve them,’ 3 you shall not listen to the words of that prophet or that dreamer of dreams. For the Lord your God is testing you, to know whether you love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul. 4 You shall walk after the Lord your God and fear him and keep his commandments and obey his voice, and you shall serve him and hold fast to him. 5 But that prophet or that dreamer of dreams shall be put to death, because he has taught rebellion against the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt and redeemed you out of the house of slavery, to make you leave the way in which the Lord your God commanded you to walk. So you shall purge the evil[a] from your midst. Deuteronomy 13 ESV
People, why do you think for years the church has been afraid to do anything or preach much about spiritual aspects? Because to them it’s safer to just not mess with it. Well, I believe if you wanna know God more, and get involved in the war, you are going to have to be spiritually knowledgeable. You need the tools and the know-how of what to do in spiritual circumstances. We are waging a spiritual war here. satan's angels are not visible to the naked eye are they? No! Then we need to know how to live in the world spiritually. So, if you are getting involved in spiritual things please be sure to learn to use discernment and ask, ASK, God Himself to give you some discernment. He will give it to you.
Good luck and make sure your reasons for reading this project are right. This project is just a new way of looking at what God already says, a simplified yet more intricate way. I hope it helps you get closer to God and build on that already planted faith seed.
