The Great Falling Away In The End Times

This word is four paragraphs long, so if you are simply into a quick one or two liner this is not for you. However, if you are interested in the great falling away taking place today in the world this word is for you.

The Bible predicts a great “falling away” from God in the end times. “Now, brethren, concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to Him, we ask you, not to be soon shaken in mind or troubled, either by spirit or by word or by letter, as if from us, as though the day of Christ had come. Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition, who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.” (2 Thessalonians 2:1-4). This falling away refers to the time when people around the world will reject the true gospel and in their hearts rebel against the one true living God. Just as the Jews rejected God and continuously rebelled against Him, we can see this happening today in what is called the Church Age. The Church Age is best known as the time period from the day of Pentecost to the day Jesus raptures His Church from the earth.

When will this rapture happen to end the Church Age? “No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. As it was in the days of Noah, so will it be at the coming of the Son of Man. For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark. And they were oblivious, until the flood came and swept them all away. So will it be at the coming of the Son of Man. Two men will be in the field: one will be taken and the other left. Two women will be grinding at the mill: one will be taken and the other left. Therefore keep watch, because you do not know the day on which your Lord will come. But understand this: If the homeowner had known in which watch of the night the thief was coming, he would have kept watch and would not have let his house be broken into. For this reason, you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour you do not expect.” (Matthew 24:36-44).

Therefore, we who are the true elect are called to be ready both in season and out of season as we serve the kingdom of heaven until the day we are called home to heaven. Yet, among us are those who, in the name of Christ, proclaim a different gospel. This is a gospel that does not demand a full surrender of one’s life to follow Jesus. Instead, this false gospel contains manmade doctrines to entice the people of this world to believe they can escape the gates of hell by practicing the teachings and traditions entwined in what we can now call the Christian Religion. There is no doubt that this religion is part of the falling away or rebellion from the true gospel that must take place before the return of our Lord. Satan is behind this great lie and whether it is called Catholic, Protestant, or even non-denominational, the roots run deep and are deceiving many! Paul wrote, “Put on the full armor of God, so that you can make your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this world’s darkness, and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.” (Ephesians 6:11-12).

The book of Daniel reveals the schemes of the devil in the end times, “Through his craft and by his hand, he will cause deceit to prosper, and in his own mind he will make himself great. In a time of peace he will destroy many, and he will even stand against the Prince of princes. Yet he will be broken off, but not by human hands.” (Daniel 8:25). Thus, we know Jesus will be the victor in the end, but we must be vigilant and aware of the corruption and deceit being promoted by today’s Christian Religion networked around the world and guised in what is commonly referred as the local church. The meaning is clear, the local church is a building needed to house those who practice these manmade teachings and traditions. However, do not despair because the one true Church, the Body of Christ, is alive and well. There are true Christians around the world, albeit few, who continue to serve the kingdom of heaven. These are those who surrender their own lives of comfort in this world each day to be used by the Father to minister to those with both spiritual and physical needs. They enjoy the true fellowship that can only come from the Lord and they do not buy into the many manmade traditions and practices that separate, create arguments, and mask the true love of God. The “falling away” from true Christian practices has begun and if you are trapped in it pray the Lord will awaken you! “If the homeowner had known in which watch of the night the thief was coming, he would have kept watch and would not have let his house be broken into.” (Matthew 24:44).
