Note: Blog entry posted in advance of the feast day.
Whoa! I almost forgot about doing a blog entry for this feast day, which would be a real shame considering this is one of the most important Marian Feasts for a Marian devotee. Today is the Feast of the Annunciation, the feast in which we commemorate Our Lady saying what are probably the greatest words ever uttered by a human being:
"Behold, the Handmaid of the Lord, be it done unto me according to Thy word."
Normally this feast day normally happens on March 25, but because March 25 fell on Holy Week this year, the feast was shifted to today, April 9th. Had the feast day fallen on March 25, as it normally does, I would of said: "Only nine more months until Christmas!
"Anyways, I'm not sure what we'll be having for dinner on the feast day, but because one of the biggest feasts on the Liturgical year for a Marian devotee, it's got to be something big. I actually wanted to go a step further and hand out presents on this feast day, but I didn't have time to order anything.
Anyways, I wish all my fellow-Catholics a happy Feast of the Annunciation hope you all can find some way to celebrate!
