The 'faith-full' Church

Faith connects us with God's virtue and God's virtue adds value to our lives

The Acts of the Apostles isn't a book about the teachings of the Apostles but about their doings. One of the things notable about the early church was the manifestation of signs and wonders and miracles in their daily lives. This we have seen in past studies of this book. What we look at today is the spiritual factor behind their normal wondrous life!

When the man at the beautiful gate was healed Peter in his message gave us an insight into what provoked this miraculous work. He said, ' and his name through FAITH in his name hath made this man strong, whom ye see and know: yea, the FAITH which is by him hath given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all.'(Acts 3:16)

Twice he mentioned faith so that no one will be in doubt, because the just shall live by his faith! The quality of our Christian journey will never be better than the measure of our faith!

Further down in Acts 6:8 the Bible says that Stephen "full of faith" did great signs and wonders among the people! Faith again was the key that unlocks the miraculous!

Acts 14:9-10 record the story of a man whom Paul perceived to have faith and then he declared the man free and so it was - he got up and walk, literally fulfilling that scripture that says that by 'faith ye stand'.

‘The same heard Paul speak: who stedfastly beholding him, and perceiving that he had faith to be healed, 10 Said with a loud voice, Stand upright on thy feet. And he leaped and walked’

Whatever has kept you down for long will lose its hold on you right now and by faith, you shall stand again! (Romans 5:2, Romans 11:20)

The early church walked more into the realm of faith than in the realm of sense, no wonder they experienced God’s unusual power! Faith connects us to God's virtue and God's virtue adds values to our lives. The early churches were valued adding centers in their days no wonder the multitude flocked in!
