The Enabler Of Sin

"And remember, when you are being tempted, do not say, “God is tempting me.” God is never tempted to do wrong, and he never tempts anyone else. Temptation comes from our own desires, which entice us and drag us away." (James 1:13-14 NLT)

Anyone that is being tempted should not think that God is tempting his or her. God has never being tempted to do evil. He is not like us, He is not subsceptible to that which lead into temptation. God is never lustful, it is lust that lead into temptation. He is far above human burning passion.
Who is the tempter?
"Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted there by the devil." (Matthew 4:1 NLT)
The devil is the brain behind every temptation we face in life. He is the one that lure people into sin and later turn around to accuse them. The good news is that he has a tool of trade that is being engaged in everyone. It is called lust. The more lust in your heart, the more temptation you will encounter, and the higher your tendency to sin. Sin is therefore not an unwanted guest that can enter into your life at will. Sin has an accomplice inside of you, his name is Lust! It therefore means that if you want to live a life free from sin, send his accomplice out of your life. Our problem is not majorly external, we need to look inward and deal with lusts in our hearts, then sin will be far from us.
Personal consecration is possible where we continually examine our lives and be on the look out for lust. Lust is the egg that breaks into the chick called Sin. Get rid of the 'egg' and you will not have to worry about a 'chick' running around in your life.
"You will be accepted if you do what is right. But if you refuse to do what is right, then watch out! Sin is crouching at the door, eager to control you. But you must subdue it and be its master.”
(Genesis 4:7 NLT)
God warned Cain about his lusts, his anger and jealousy. But he did not take heed, he fell for it and became a murderer. Every lust we fail to control and send out of our life today, will definitely overpower and control us tomorrow.

ACTION PLAN: Let us quit excusing our lusts. Let us rather expose them to the word of God and finished work of Christ on the Cross which are able to uproot them for us.

PRAYER: Father, expose every lust in me and deal with each of them by the power in Your word and the Cross of Calvary. Amen.
