The Dry Bones In The Body

In Ezekiel 37: 1-2 it says "The hand of the Lord was upon me, and he brought me out in the Spirit of the Lord and set me down in the middle of the valley; it was full of bones. And he led me around among them, and behold, there were very many on the surface of the valley, and behold, they were very dry.

The Prophet Ezekiel in this verse was taken by the Spirit of God to the middle of a valley that was full of dry bones. The Bible shows us that these bones weren't physically dead but spiritually dead. An army of people who were spiritually dead who were far away from the Lord. People who were full of sin. In Romans 6: 23 it says "For the wages of sin is death".

We may think that these dead, dry bones represent every unbeliever in the world, who are dead because of their sins and offenses, and we are somewhat right when it comes to this; but these bones also represent us.

In the year 2020, this is the church in the United States. These are the hard facts of a sad reality. If we as people are in sin, then we are also like these dry bones. In Ezekiel 37:3 it says "And he said to me , "Son of man, can these bones live?". And I answered, "O Lord God, only you know.

God asked Ezekiel a question but the prophet knew that only God knew the answer. In the time we are living in we must also ask ourselves the same question that God asked Ezekiel. Can the dead and dying churches in the United States live again? In Ezekiel 37: 4-5 it says "Prophesy over these bones, and say to them, O dry bones, hear the word of the Lord. I will cause breath to enter into you and you will live."

To us it may seem impossible for dead dry bones to come back and live again; but for God nothing is impossible. In Luke 1: 37 it says "for nothing will be impossible for God". The church in the United States needs to start hearing the word of the Lord. We need to repent and follow the word of the Lord. We need to spread the gospel how it is written and don't go based on our human emotions or opinions. We need to come together as the body of Christ and rebuke sin and tell the Devil enough is enough. We can't serve two God's. As the body of Christ we should only be serving the Living God who gave his one and only son Jesus Christ for all of our sins.

The Lord wants to come in to breathe life into these dry bones. His Spirit into his people and make them his body, his army and his temple. The church in the United States needs to realize that even we as believers in Christ may be held in graves as dead and dry bones, and we need the Lord's Spirit to breathe on us so that we may turn from a bunch of dry bones to an army who will go into battle against the Devil and all his demonic forces so that through Jesus Christ we may share the gospel that is written in the scriptures.

The Church's in the United States needs to understand that the bones in the valley in Ezekiel 37 are not the bones of unbelievers but the bones of the house of Israel; these were the bones of God's people. We as the body of Christ in the United States need to see a vision of the fact that many of God's people are dead spiritually. We are dry bones before the Lord in other words we are cut off from life, lost and in sin.

God's salvation is not only for those who are in the world but also for those who are dead in the body. We think that as believers we are full of life but just like the house of Israel we are graves full of dry bones. We are sharing a gospel of positivity but we should be sharing a gospel of repentance. God wants to come into his people and give us life. The church in the United States is very much like the vision of Ezekiel. We are corpses in middle of a valley who have forgotten our first love.

The Lord is the savior of the dead and the word of God can cause a dead person to live again. Our Lord is not only the bread of life, the light of the world, the redeemer, but he is also the savior of those who are dead. In John 5: 25 it says "An hour is coming, and it is now, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God, and those who hear will live". We need to pray for ourselves and for the body of Christ. Let's forget about denominations focus on what the Bible says in John 7: 38 "whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from his heart."

The church in the United States needs to realize how much we need the Lord to come in and revive us. As the body of Christ we need to turn away from sin and build up the body by his Spirit. We need to be one in Christ. Can those dead churches in the United States live again? Can God turn a graveyard into life? The answer to that is in Ezekiel 37: 14 "And I will put my Spirit within you, and you shall live".

No more division between the body of Christ. No more denominations that cause divisions. We need to rise in one Spirit and spread the gospel how it is written. We need to understand what is says in 1 Corinthias 12: 12 "For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though many, are one body, so it is with Christ."

If you have read this message and you want to reconcile with the Lord repeat the prayer below and be made new in Jesus Christ:

Lord Jesus I know I am a sinner.

I believe you died for me on the cross so that I might be saved. Right now I ask You to forgive me of all my sins. I want to reconcile with you Lord. I open my heart to You.

Come into my heart Lord Jesus.

I receive you as my Lord and Savior.

Thank you, Jesus, for forgiving all my sins, and giving me eternal life.

In Jesus’ name, Amen!
