One of the most masterful arts in warfare, politicking, is hatching a master plot that you get your enemies to execute for you to their own detriment! It happens all the time in warfare and politics because the enemy in executing this kind of master plot thinks the plot is his own and to his own benefit and advantage! It is unto the final end of the plot when the results are all different, this is when the enemy realizes he has been tricked all along to carry out a plot that will be to his own detriment!
Carrying out such plot, the success of such plot always hang in the balance though as the enemy must keep believing that carrying out this plot is to his own advantage in the ensuing warfare or political struggle! It's always complicated, but when successful is always a masterstroke! It always utterly defeats the enemy!
Such was the resurrection story. It was a complicated plot involving many parties! God can't just pull it off all on his own! It was not like the beginning when God said, 'Let there be light and there was light!’ This is much more. He couldn't have said let there be the resurrection and there was resurrection! No! He needed Jesus to die willingly. And you know at one point, he almost didn't want to die again! The son of God asked at Gethsemane, 'If it be thy will?' Like seriously he asked that? Wasn't that's what he came for? But to willingly offer your head in death isn’t a joking matter! The plan would have failed if Jesus had hesitated!
Then there is the part of making the devil believe killing Jesus was the best thing that could ever happen to his kingdom! Oh my, how do you trick the trickster himself? But the devil falls for it because the Bible says in 1 Corinthians 2:8, 'Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.' Hallelujah! The devil didn't know he was used all along to hatch God's greatest plan for restoration of man's dominion: the death and resurrection of the savior!
This is why Paul longed to know this resurrection power! It was the greatest display of God's power ever displayed in the history of mankind. It was described in Ephesians 1:17-22 as the 'exceeding greatness of his power which he wrought in Christ when he raised him from the dead....'! This mighty power is what brought us victory! And despite the fact that the tomb was sealed with a mighty stone, with soldiers to watch and all the devils and the demons of the world keeping guard, the power of resurrection blasted it way through and the grave could not hold the son of God down! He died and rose and gave us victory and indeed we have victory! Praise the Lord!
Paul knowing this shouted in 1 Corinthians 15:55-57, that God has given us the victory in Christ Jesus!
‘55 O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? 56 The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law. 57 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.’
The resurrection was God’s master spiritual stratagem for procuring us spiritual victory over the devil and his cohorts.
