The call of the Heart of Christ Jesus
The Heart of Christ, the Sacred Heart,
points to the perfect humanity of Christ.
Our hearts are called to become
more human, loving, compassionate;
this involves the death of a self
that is fearful, angry, manipulative,
and afraid of suffering and being vulnerable.
The death to self, that Jesus calls us to
is the doorway into an expansion of our humanity,
allowing him to live in us, to become us.
To fail in this can be truly tragic, our lives become
stillborn, stunted, and filled with deep frustration of
