Thankfulness

Thank God now, and figure out why later. It is not until we thank God for the seemingly bad things in our lives that we can finally see the good that they bring. If nothing else, remember: "Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance." (James 1:2) Just think back to the first two chapters of Job or Jesus being tempted in the desert; see your trials as ways to affirm your faith in the Lord Almighty, give everything to Him, and tell Him to make something amazing out of it. Do remember that Jesus has a habit of waiting; He waited two days before raising Lazarus (John 11), He waited all night to tell the apostles to cast their net on the other side of the boat (John 21), and He's waiting to come to your aid, too. If it feels like God's taking His time to come help you, rejoice, for you're being treated the same as some of the holiest people in the Bible. From personal experience of the long, painful wait for a girlfriend, I can tell you that the wait becomes so worth it, when you turn it into time to perfect your connection with Jesus. I'm still waiting, but I'm accomplishing so much more in the meantime, and all of the pain of loneliness has been lifted away; free from the pain, free from the impatience, I'm free to fully enjoy this single stage of life, where I can spend it with God and His saints, to become a warrior, a craftsman, and a salesman for His kingdom on Earth. Appreciate the chance to wait; it becomes more precious than gold when used properly.
