Tables For The Judges, Kings And Queens Of Israel

Seeing that I made a list of the reigns of the judges, kings and queens of Israel in my previous blog posts I thought it beneficial to include a visual table for everyone to follow. I've also attached a .pdf file for both and like my other files I've uploaded you'll have to zoom in to see the charts clearly.

There are clearly 17 Judges total we only count 11 because we aren't told when a judges reign would overlap with anothers.

The narrative is clear that oppression from Israel's enemies come first and the judge ends that oppression.

By the time Jephthah rises up he states that the Israelites had occupied the lands taken by Joshua near the Arnon River for 300 Years. This would mean that Cushan began oppressing the Israelites shortly after Joshua died at 110 Years old.

Caleb was 85 years old after Joshua finished conquering the seven Canaanite nations.
This means that no more than 47 Years could have passed from the 80th year of Moses
to the 85th year of Caleb when he received his land from Joshua in his 84th year.

Therefore Joshua ruled over Israel with the Elders for 26 Years. So 511 Years passed from Moses to Samuel.

Beginning from the 80th Year of Moses and the 38th Year of Caleb:

2 Years + 38 Years + 7 Years + 26 Years + 111 Years + 327 Years = 511 Years (Moses to Samuel)

As one can see while both Saul and David's lines had the same number of rulers it was the tribe of Judah which would outlast the northern tribes of Israel by 258 Years.

Saul, Ishbosheth, David, and Solomon are listed on both sides to indicate that Israel was a united kingdom. It wasn't until the reign of Rehoboam that God divided the 10 Nothern Tribes from the 2 Southern Tribes (Judah & Levi).

The Raised Number on the right indicates the order which the particular ruler of Judah's reign overlapped with that of the particular ruler from Israel. So Rehoboam¹ is the first ruler whose reign overlaps with Jeroboam¹.

The Raised Number on the left is the year the Israelite ruler overlaps with the ruler of Judah began their reign. So Rehoboam began his reign in the 1st year of Jeroboam; Abijah began his reign in the 18th year of Jeroboam.

This order sometimes will be reversed such as in the case of Hoshea of Israel. Hoshea began his reign in the 12th year of Ahaz, while Hezekiah began his reign in the 3rd year of Hoshea.

From Moses to Samuel is 511 Years which is the end of the rule of the Judges. From Moses to the 4th Year of Solomon when he began to build the 1st Temple is 597 Years 6 Months/597.5 Years.

The order of the prophets was arrived at by following the narrative of the text from 1 Samuel to 2 Kings; and, the rest can be found by looking at the start of the books of the prophets which say the king ruling in their prophesying.
Some of the other prophets had no information on when they began prophesying so I simply inferred from the text that they either prophesied before, during, or after king Nebuchadnezzar I took the Jews captive into Babylon.
