Today I was reminded of a quality of faith.
Romans 4
17 ¶ (As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were.
18 Who against hope believed in hope, that he might become the father of many nations, according to that which was spoken, So shall thy seed be.
Assertive faith, speaking of things that are not as though they were, also called "speaking things into existence" is good if it is an application of prayer with faith, and something bad if will is applied to it instead.
The childlikeness discipline being applied here is playing make believe with God's involvement who actually can create by believing.
Those who cannot speak with an audible voice have another way of doing the same thing. Since God does not show favoritism (according to a number of bible passages), those who can speak, can also assert the non-verbal application as well.
Since doing things in secret is part of being rewarded openly, cultivating this in our prayer life would not be a bad thing, since communication with God is always a good thing.
now if only the faith could agree on what it wanted to create collectively ... what an awesome world that would come.
