I was hoping things were a sign that communication would improve, but I guess not.For me then I just have to divest my emotions from that thought.
On another note, I had been thinking the past few days about gifts again- gift mixes. I think I know of a bunch of people with the gift of evangelism- some seeming to have a stronger anointing than others. I think of sister Lilian who had a combo of evangelism & prophet. Then there is Mike which was strong evangelism w/ something else maybe pastoral or leadership, K with pastoral & teaching with evangelism (though I think his strongest is pastoral), Mike C. with teaching & evangelism, H with evangelism & adminstration (and maybe teaching), and then of course my other half with possibly pastoral (with word of wisdom) & evangelism (as well as helps). I don't believe my primary is evangelism- but I am "evangelistic" and it is always in the forefront of my mind.
I was also thinking of how I would like to go to Brazil this spring, with "the evangelist". God would have to put together a bunch of things in order for this to work like: finances, schedule, who is going to stay and go etc..
I really would love to go though, help reaching out to all those needy youth & kids. So I'm going to take this up in prayer and see what happens. This would be my first missions trip in all these years of being saved. This is the first time I have ever felt led (though there had been other opportunities). I'm "feeling it" this time though. I sense the faith for it too, I'm picturing a wide vision.
This got me thinking about the different of ministering out on the missions field compared to home. I have haven't had to think of this before. I'm usually the type of person who is into follow up, and likes to keep track of/watch people over time. This minister & go thing would be way different. Like in the missions case you: preach ( I guess I would be doing service stuff maybe prayer for healing & deliverances) the gospel, pray, serve- and then leave it in the hands of local churches to do all the follow up. Not going to be so simple for me since once I feel something for whichever people it's not so easy to not become attached in some way. Back at home here I really see how the local church is so called to discipleship.
Thinking of our church and plans & what the Lord seems to be saying/ putting on our hearts: really since this is the winter season and one can't really do much "going"/ go! but the evangelism doesn't have to stop, rather though you have to draw the people in.
Then you again preach the true gospel of Christ, pray for healing & receiving of the baptism of the Holy Spirit for people- and then try and do follow up/ discipleship. In our particular case it's a bit harder, we have to pray for special grace & creative ideas for God to keep whatever people come in from the area, for them to feel received and stay connected to our church. Our case is a bit different since the primary group to reach now is one of a different cultural group than most in the church. So I take it we should provide avenues for them to connect & feel accepted as well as pray for God to move on people to be drawn in in spite of differences- that the Holy Spirit can overcome those differences which can be barriers but doesn't have to automatically be so.
If I go I'd like to help out distributing to the needy, as well as somehow be able to impart to them how much God values them. So many there are treated as worthless or with little worth, tossed out out on the streets, high abuse rate etc... Yet God says they have worth, they were created for a purpose, they have a destiny, and in Christ they can reach great heights no matter their background!
