Same God???

  1. It is said that Christians, Jews and Muslims worship the same God, 'the God of Abraham.' Do they?

Christians worship 'the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob,' and 'the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ' (Exodus 3:6; 2 Corinthians 11:31).

Jews worship 'the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob' (Exodus 3:6) but not 'the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.' That would be to recognize Christians.

Muslims worship 'the God of Abraham' (so they claim) but do not refer to Him as 'the God of Jacob' for that would be to recognize Israel (Genesis 32:28). The also refuse 'the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ' for that would be to recognize Christians.

According to simple logic only one can be right. Since simple logic no longer plays any role in the thinking processes of many, it is possible to have people say, and believe, the asinine idea that Jews, Muslims and Christians all worship the same God!

Only God is the judge of any human being, if you want to do that, go for it. Job, for instance, was not Jewish, the book is Arab wisdom literature, yet it was put in the Cannon of the Scriptures......did he worlship the 'real' God? The work of God can't be limited by anyone. My focus is to grow in love of God and others, to see Christ in all, and to listen to what others have to say.

If you think you worship the real God, it is probably an idol, a Christian one, but an idol none the less. Don't worry, as we all grow our images of God are broken by the power of the Holy Spirit, I am certainly on the journey.

The real question is, who has a heart for God. God is owned by no one, so to judge who knows God, or worship the 'true' God, is a form of judgment that we are called upon not to do. Not all Christian seem not to worship the same God since many love to send to hell pretty much everyone who does not agree with them.

One good Christian once told me, that God made us in his image and likeness, and we have been returning the favor, making him into our image......which is not pretty.

Umm…...NO! The question is, who is God. Having a 'heart for' an idol, a god of man's imagination, is useless. There is one God and one Mediator between God and man the man Christ Jesus (1 Timothy 2:15).

The born-again, Spirit led, new creature in Christ Christian, ALONE knows the one true God. And he is duty bound to judge unbelievers as the Bible judges them (John 7:24).

By the way, NO GOOD Christian is going to make such an asinine remark as you claim.
