It's really hard to see anyone who is committed to his or her cause or calling in life who leads a life of comfort. Comfort in this sense has to do with what Amos said in Amos 6:1, “Woe to them that are at ease in Zion". The key word here is "ease" and it is translated from the original root word to mean a sense of 'security'. It also connotes carelessness, wantonness, and living as convenient.
This is why Jesus in his teachings on the kingdom tells us the nature of this kingdom in Matthew 11:12, "And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force". In other words, in this kingdom, everyone presses into their calling, purpose, and assignment. You don't ease your way into destiny you press your way into it because our destinies are delivered on the platform of spiritual pressing!
That is why Jesus taught expressly that too much comfort will kill your calling. A sense of security will lock down your destiny! Only when you get violent will you get access to your portion! This was what Amos said earlier, "Woe to those that are secured in Zion"(paraphrase mine)
People who are secured don't pursue new dreams; they take less risk and revel in their comfort zone. This sense of security imprisons destinies. The prison is really one of the most secured places on the earth so when you seek for security you imprison your destiny! Security will assure you but it will also confine you. A sense of security limits the expression of your potential! Your calling is caged in your comfort zone!
Too many kingdom citizens are too silent to be violent. The security of a pay check has caged the realization of many callings and silenced the voice of destiny calling within! But no more! The kingdom we are in is not that of comfort but of warfare! And Jesus said the rule has not changed, that's why he says "from the days of John Baptist till now” the rule is still in force: to deliver your calling and destiny you must be willing to fight for it!
