Revelations Of Jesus: The Good Shepherd 2

  1. Those who are led by God cannot be misled in life! On that first missionary trip to Abonnema Islands in Rivers state, the great shepherd was there with us even though we were tired and wanted to get on any boat that could take us to the island. It's been two days on the road: from Lagos to Owerri, had a day stop and a service. The following day we got on the way to PH, it was a traffic-laden and a long journey, though it ought to be short. So with a tired mind and body, all we wanted was the next available boat as quickly as possible!

However, the great shepherd was there and He is committed to leading aright. So he led us not to the first boat or the second but to the third! That is his work! The first boat would be fast, but the third we had to wait. Nevertheless, we waited for the shepherd’s instruction

In John 10 2-3 the word tells us: “But he who enters by the door is the shepherd of the sheep. To him the gatekeeper opens. The sheep hear his voice, and he calls his own sheep by name and leads them out’. And one thing is sure, His leadings guarantee our profiting (Isaiah 48:17).

To be in the lead you will always have to follow His lead! Your 'followership' of his voice is what guarantees your leadership in the world.

This is another principal ministry of the great shepherd! So off we were on the third boat to an unknown island, but on that boat, as we preached He has provided the people that will give us accommodation for the next few weeks. As we got down on that Island from the very first minute in a place we had never been before the great shepherd led us and provided shelter for us! Hallelujah!

"The Lord is my shepherd and I shall not want"(Psalm 23:1) Now that's not a spiritual cliché! It is a spiritual reality experienced by those who believe in the great shepherd! When we follow his instructions we are bound to enjoy his provisions! For whatever God ordains he sustains; God’s will is God’s bill! All we need do is follow the leading of the great shepherd to enjoy His provisions.

To be in the lead you will always have to follow His lead! Your 'followership' of his voice is what guarantees your leadership in the world.
