The good life will not give you the abundant life, but the abundant life will give you the good life. In Romans 5:17 the bible says..."For if by one man's offense death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ"
Here we see abundant grace at work. And we are saved by grace through faith (Eph 2:8).
‘8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God’
So it was the abundant grace that brought us the abundant life. This was further established in Titus 2:11" the grace of God that bringeth salvation..." The abundant grace brought the abundant life! And the abundant life according to Paul in that latter part of verse 17 says it is so that we may reign in this life - in other words, have a good life! Hallelujah! It says, ‘much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ"
But our access to that abundant grace is by our faith in the only door God has made - Jesus! Paul testified in other places about how Jesus is the door (Romans 5:2, Ephesians 2:18), how that by through Him we have access to the father, the abundant life!
‘2 By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.’(Romans 5:2)
‘18 For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father. 19 Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God;(Ephesians 2:18)
How will the world be a better place if we preach the abundant life? That was the savior last words to us as the church (Matt 28:18-20)
“18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. 19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: 20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen”
We must not get caught up in preaching the good life messages only. The primary message of the church is to preach the abundant life! To preach Jesus the door to this abundant life! Jesus is the door there is no other one. No other message must be sweeter in our mouth than this!
