The Thousand Years
Rev 20:1-3 And I saw an angel
Come down from heaven
Having the key of the bottomless pit
And a great chain in His hand
And He laid hold on the dragon
That old serpent
Which is the Devil
And Satan
And bound him a thousand years
And cast Him into the bottomless pit (the abyss)
And shut Him up
And set a seal upon Him (sealed Him up)
That he should deceive the nations no more
Till the thousand years should be fulfilled (= make a full end of)
And after that He must be loosed a little season
NOTE: The nations, the tribes of Israel.
Rev 1:1The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto Him, to show unto His servants things which must shortly come to pass;
Rev 20:4 And I saw thrones
And they sat upon Them
And judgment was given unto Them
And I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus
And for the word of God
And which had not worshiped the beast
Neither His image
Neither had received His mark upon their foreheads
Or in their hands
And they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years
NOTE:Mat_19:28 And Jesus said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That You which have followed Me, in the regeneration when the Son of man shall sit in the throne of his glory, Israel.
Luke_22:30 That You may eat and drink at My table in My kingdom, and sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
Seeing how Jesus disciples were told this, how do people today take this out of context and try to apply to themselves, or their way of thinking? Beware, you shall be judged by your belief!
1Co_4:8 Now You are full, now You are rich, You have reigned as kings without: and I would to God You did reign, that We also might reign with You.
Rev 20:5-6 But the rest of the dead
Lived not again until the thousand years were finished
This is the first resurrection
NOTE:The rest of the dead. This indicates another resurrection at a latter time. Perhaps this first resurrection was that which occurred at the death of Jesus Christ when the graves were opened. This then, would make for another resurrection in a time which we do not yet know of.
Blessed and holy is he that has part in the first resurrection
On such the second death has no power
But They shall be priests of God and of Christ
And shall reign with him a thousand years
The Defeat of Satan
Rev 20:7 And when the thousand years are expired
Satan shall be loosed out of His prison (the abyss)
And shall go out to deceive the nations
Which are in the four quarters of the earth
Gog and Magog
NOTE: Ezek 39:25-29 Therefore thus says the Lord GOD; Now will I bring again the captivity of Jacob, and have mercy upon the whole house of Israel, and will be jealous for my holy name; After that they have born Their shame, and all their trespasses whereby They have trespassed against Me, when they dwelt safely in Their land, and none made them afraid.
When I have brought them again from the people, and gathered them out of their enemies' lands, and am sanctified in them in the sight of many nations;Then shall they know that I amthe LORD their God, which caused them to be led into captivity among the heathen: but I have gathered them unto their own land, and have left none of them any more there.
Neither will I hide My face any more from Them: for I have poured out My Spirit upon the house of Israel, says the Lord GOD.
Rev 20:8
To gather them together to battle
The number of whom is as the sand of the sea (the Gentile nations)
And they went up on the breadth of the Earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them.
Rev 20:10 And the devil that deceived them
Was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone
Where the beast and the false prophet are
And shall be tormented day and night for continually (ever and ever)
Judgment Before the Great White Throne
Rev 20:11And I saw a great white throne
And Him that sat on it
From whose face the earth
And the heaven fled away
And there was found no place for Them
NOTE: John's vision was a heavenly one, this verse is of the Earth.
Rev 20:12 And I saw the dead
Small and great
Stand before God
And the books were opened
And another book was opened
Which is The Book of Life
NOTE:
Php 4:2-3 I beseech Euodias, and beseech Syntyche, that they be of the same mind in the Lord. And I entreat thee also, true yoke fellow, help those women which labored with Me in the gospel, with Clement also, and with other My fellow laborers, whose names are in the book of life.
Rev 3:5-6 He that overcomes, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.
He that has understanding, let him understand what the Spirit saith unto the churches.
And the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books
According to Their works
NOTE: Dan 7:9-28 I beheld till the thrones were cast down, and the Ancient of days did sit, whose garment was white as snow, and the hair of his head like the pure wool: his throne was like the fiery flame, and his wheels as burning fire.
A fiery stream issued and came forth from before Him: thousand thousands ministered unto Him, and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before Him: the judgment was set, and the books were opened.
I beheld then because of the voice of the great words which the horn spake:I beheld even till the beast was slain, and his body destroyed, and given to the burning flame.
As concerning the rest of the beasts, they had their dominion taken away: yet their lives were prolonged for a season and time.
The Son of Man Is Given Dominion
I saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days,and they brought him near before Him.
And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed.
Daniel's Vision Interpreted
I Daniel was grieved in My spirit in the midst of My body, and the visions of My head troubled Me.
I came near unto one of them that stood by, and asked Him the truth of all this. So He told me, and made me know the interpretation of the things.
These great beasts
Which are four
Are four kings
Which shall arise out of the earth
But the saints of the most High shall take the kingdom
And possess the kingdom for ever
Even for ever and ever
Then I would know the truth of the fourth beast
Which was diverse from all the others
Exceeding dreadful
Whose teeth were of iron
And his nails of brass
Which devoured brake in pieces
And stamped the residue with His feet
And of the ten horns that were in His head
And of the other which came up
And before whom three fell
Even of that horn that had eyes
And a mouth that spoke very great things
Whose look was more stout than His fellows
I beheld
And the same horn made war with the saints
And prevailed against Them
Until the Ancient of days came
And judgment was given to the saints of the most High
And the time came that the saints possessed the kingdom
Thus He said
The fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom upon earth
Which shall be diverse from all kingdoms
And shall devour the whole earth
And shall tread it down
And break it in pieces
And the ten horns out of this kingdom
Are ten kings that shall arise
And another shall rise after Them
And He shall be diverse from the first
And He shall subdue three kings
NOTE:The fourth kingdom on Earth overtakes the Earth.
And He shall speak great words against the Most High
And shall wear out the saints of the Most High
And think to change times and laws
And they shall be given into His hand
Until a time and times and the dividing of time
NOTE: A time, times and ½ of a time: 3 ½ years. The 1260 days of Revelation 11:2.
But the judgment shall sit (in place)
And they shall take away His dominion
To consume and to destroy it unto the end
And the kingdom and dominion
And the greatness of the kingdom under the whole heaven
Shall be given to the people of the saints of the most High
Whose kingdom is an everlasting kingdom
And all dominions shall serve and obey Him
Hitherto is the end of the matter
As for me Daniel, my cogitations much troubled me, and my countenance changed in me: but I kept the matter in my heart.
Rev 20:13-15 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it
And death and the grave (hell) delivered up the dead which were in them
And they were judged every man according to their works
And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire
This is the second death
And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
