The sacrifice at calvary is the reason for out triumphant living!
This sacrifice and this great outpouring of God's love is the foundation for our victory and the foundation on which Christianity stands today. This sacrifice is the story we tell today, it is the reason for easter, this sacrifice is the very essence of our victorious living! Understanding what Christ did on a day like this is what position us to be blessed eternally by it.
The essence of a day like this is to give concentrated focused thoughts and all that transpires from calvary to when He rose from the grave. This is what the easter celebration should be all about: setting a period aside to renew our understanding of Christ finished work on our behalf. This is why Paul longed to know this resurrection power! It was the greatest display of God's power ever displayed in the history of mankind. It was described in Ephesians 1:17-22 as the 'exceeding greatness of his power which he wrought in Christ when he raised him from the dead....'! This mighty power is what brought us victory! And despite the fact that the tomb was sealed with a mighty stone, with soldiers to watch and all the devils and the demons of the world keeping guard, the power of resurrection blasted it way through and the grave could not hold the son of God down! He died and rose and gave us victory and indeed we have victory! Praise the Lord!
