Response to the Question are Christians Jews?

A person is a Jew who is one inwardly; and circumcision is circumcision of the heart, by the Spirit, not by the written code. Such a person’s praise is not from other people, but from God. (Roman 2:29)
.
The early Christians seemed to think that they were true Jews and the group that formed the emperor's cult were the synagogue of satan. I also think it is important to note that Christianity had protection under Roman law as a Jewish sect in the beginning.
.
Would a Christian (born again) be considered a Jew today however, no, probably not .. except in that inward sense. Judaism is part of our faith heritage as is evidenced by the Marcionism heresy.
.
We are part of the tree that the Jews were back then, but we are not Jews, we are God's people. For there is no longer Jew or Gentile ... we are all one in Christ Jesus (Galatians 3:28)
