Hello Everyone,
I posted this earlier on FB for my friends, and I'd like to share it here as well.
It's nearly 8 am right now and I'm reflecting on that morning 12 years ago. I was just arriving at my desk on the 49th floor of 1 World Trade Center. The North Tower. It was a bright beautiful morning with blue skies and not a cloud visible. Who would have known that less than an hour later, my life was changed forever. I will never forget what I felt, what I saw, what I experienced from the moment the plane struck the building I was in at 8:46 am. 12 years later and it still seems like it all happened yesterday. I recall the heroic actions of those who gave their lives so that people like myself could make it out alive. I recall that as we experienced one of the worst acts of evil and hate we also experienced the best of what humanity can achieve. As for myself, I can testify to God's compassion and goodness even in the midst of so much suffering, grief, and pain. He was there for me even as I went through the different stages of denial, faithlessness, and doubts. In the end,as I realized my need and finally laid upon Him all my sorrows, weariness, and cares, He took it all upon Him and gave me rest. As I take the time now to reflect, remember, and honor the fallen of that tragic day, it is my prayer that God will touch the hearts of those who are still in so much pain and sorrow. Jesus Christ knows about suffering intimately and He more than anyone understands. He is there for you and waiting for you to come to Him.
"Man of Sorrows! what a name
For the Son of God, Who came
Ruined sinners to reclaim.
Hallelujah! What a Savior!"
