Reasons To Worship God

Reasons to worship God.jpg

There are lots of things that can distract us from worshiping God – a busy schedule, a negative experience at church, an inability to find the right church or group to worship with are some of the reasons many people cite. Some say that they don’t need a special time or place to worship God – they simply worship God all day, every day.

“Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise the Lord!” Psalm 150:6 (NASB)

Giving thanks to God all day, every day seems like an appropriate way to worship from my point of view. The Bible implies that giving thanks to God brings us into his presence.

“Enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise. Give thanks to Him, bless His name.” Psalm 100:4 (NASB)

There is so much to praise God for it’s hard to go very far into your day without acknowledging his awesome creation and the complexity of his plan for us and those around us.

“Praise Him for His mighty deeds; praise Him according to His excellent greatness.” Psalm 150:2 (NASB)

We also worship God because he is always there for us no matter what’s going on in our lives. We can count on God to be with us every minute of every day.

“Therefore the Lord longs to be gracious to you, and therefore He waits on high to have compassion on you.” Isaiah 30:18 (NASB)

One of the primary reasons we worship God is for providing us with the Bible so that we can come to know him and receive salvation from his Son, Jesus Christ.

“These have been written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing you may have life in His name.” John 20:31 (NASB)

We have many reasons to praise and worship God. It may be a good idea to spend a whole day writing down every moment that we recognize as God’s contribution to our lives. Everything depends on God. We are nothing without him. We are everything when we come into his presence through praise and worship.

“Bless the Lord, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless His holy name. Bless the Lord, O my soul.” Psalm 103:1-2 (NASB)
