I am currently reading the book “In the Glory of the Father.” According to its description it’s aimed at Christian readers and to show “the relationship between the teaching of Christianity and the teachings of the Baha’i Faith.” As I am a dedicated bible-believing Christian it is my purpose to distinguish the differences between Christianity and the Baha’i Faith by using passages in this book.
On page 18 the writer writes, “In the year 1884 many Christians around the world were anticipating the Second Coming of Christ.” I very much doubt that as large a number as that were waiting for this event. Reason being history would have noted as such. In Matthew 24 the disciples of Jesus asked Him “what shall be the sign of thy coming” and Jesus answered them “But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.” One wonders how those in 1844 knew when He would return when Jesus Himself didn’t know. :o
