"For Ezra had prepared his heart to seek the Law of the Lord , and to do it, and to teach statutes and ordinances in Israel." (Ezra 7:10 NKJV)
In order to be qualified for the true office of teaching the people of God, the following must be observed in their respective order:
1. HEART PREPARATION: Our hearts must be prepared to accept and obey God's ordinances. Every ideology that is contrary to God must be uprooted at this stage. Decision to obey God is taken at this stage as well.
2. PRACTICE THE WORD: At this stage, we actually practice God's word. We contrain ourselves to do according to His precepts.
3. TEACH OTHERS: We are now qualified to teach others. This stage is as crucial as the other two, if we keep the truth to ourselves, it dies with us. We must commit it unto faithful men and women, who will be able to teach others also.
ACTION PLAN: Do not be eager to teach others without taking time to practice God's word.
PRAYER: Uproot every stump in my heart that is hindering God's word from germinating.
