I wanted to say a few things about prayer. To start with it is a very powerful gift that God has given us. Every Christian in their walk should pray.
Many people including myself many times we pray but at times it feels like we arent being listened to.
On a side note, the enemy does not want us to pray. He does not want us in communication with God. he is aware of the power of prayer and he will do anything to make us believe that God isnt listening, we are just talking to ourselves. That God will not answer our prayers.And that it is just a waste of time because God knows everything, whats the point in praying. These are all lies from the enemy and needs to be aware of in our Christian walk.
Here is a passage telling us that fervent prayer avails much in our lives
"Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much."
James 5:16

Alot of people pray and ask for things but it is more selfish desires or completly the wrong motive, you can say they made a miss there.
We should be praying for things according to Gods Will. Not our own.
"Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him. "

Even when we have the right motives we sometimes just do not really know what to pray for. The Spirit can intercede for us tho.
"...we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God.

Let us never cease to pray, when we pray we must have faith that God will answer. Faith is very important when it comes to prayer. Let us not be doubleminded.
When we ask for knowledge and wisdom in prayer. Believe in your heart you will recieve it. Not in your time frame but the Lords time frame.

God has to do things in His time frame but unfortunatly we want it many times in ours but we must wait patiently for the Lord. He knows the perfect time to present the situation in our life. Sometimes certain events have to happen before He will answer it.
Let us never stop from praying....

There are also times when we cant hear Him because the World is distorting His voice. As well as disobediance to the Lord.
Before we decide we want to have a prayer life and a relationship with God we need to get right with Him. He wants us to Confess our sins, and to turn away from them and turn to God.
when people ignore His truth and reject His ways, He will not listen.
