Prayer Journals

I am learning to keep a prayer journal. Many Christians keep these to remind themselves of important requests to bring before God, as well as to remember how He previously answered prayers. This is something to do for encouragement, but the technique varies. One journal format that works for one person can be different from another person's format.

I've listed some ideas created myself and other people. Some I have tried some but I hope to experiment until I find the perfect journal for me. In the comments please feel free to add your own ideas or critique one of my listed ones.

Daily Entry
This technique is similar to standard journal keeping. During or after a time of prayer you write the things you have prayed about and write about answers to prayer God has given. This technique seems very personal, but you mustn't mind holding your pen and writing each and every day.

Request Entry
This technique is where you write one prayer request one each individual page so you'll remember, and then you put a hash mark on the bottom for every day you remembered to pray. When the prayer is answered you write the result on the bottom of the page. This technique is good at keeping you accountable but can be discouraging when unanswered requests seem to outnumber the answered ones.

Scheduled Entry
This technique is where you sit and plan your prayer routine several days in advance. This is good if you have more requests than you can mention in one prayer session but seems challenging unless you have good time commitment skills. For each day of that week you can add to that page how God is answering your prayers and focus more on the answers rather than the requests when you write.
