An organization called “Open Doors” compiles a list of countries that are persecuting Christians around the world. They report that more than 245 million Christians face imprisonment, loss of home and assets, physical torture, beatings, and even death as a result of their faith.

Currently North Korea, Afghanistan, and Somalia are at the top of the list.
North Korea
North Koreans are expected to idolize the Kim family. Christians are seen as hostile to the state run society. Christians can be deported to labor camps or even killed.
Afghanistan
Afghanistan is an Islamic state and therefore hostile toward any other religion. Converting to Christianity is considered treason and a betrayal of family, tribe, and country. The most likely outcome for exposed and caught Christians is death.
Somalia
In the rural areas of Somalia, the Islamic terrorist group known as Al-Shabab regulates all aspects of life based on Sharia law. Christians are often killed on the spot when discovered. The goal of Al-Shabab is to eradicated Christians form the country.
