I went to get the links for Phantom of the Opera, but the website didn’t go through. As I don’t speak Chinese, the message was illegible. I’ll try again tomorrow. Hopefully I can get it. Ribs is out of town for a camp thing that she is counseling at, so borrowing the movie from her is out of the question. I’ll live.
If you haven’t seen the movie, it is basically about this young girl (Christine) who has grown up in an opera house. There is a man living in the tunnels underneath (his story is given out in the middle of the movie), who is a musical genius shunned from society because of a birthmark on the side of his face. He gives Christine voice lessons and falls in love with her. However, her childhood sweetheart (Raoul) comes back and they fall in love. Christine has to choose between the phantom and Raoul, but if she chooses Raoul, he dies. It is a musical, but the songs are really good… if you like classical opera type songs. The movie is well put together. There is one scene that takes place in the cemetery, and as it is 1877 Paris, the statues are naked angels, mostly women. So if you are a guy and have an extremely difficult time with that, either don’t watch the movie or skip that part. IMO, the phantom is cuter than Raoul (with the mask on… the birthmark is fine, but he is always angry and crying when it is off. He is much better held together with the mask.) and Meg is prettier than Christine. But I didn’t cast, and in reality, the actress portraying Christine looks like she is described in the book. So yeah.
I will freely admit that I am a hopeless romantic. This might play into my strong feelings for my friend. Which no matter how hard I try to make them, they won’t go away. Guys have it so much easier than girls because they don’t get nearly as emotionally attached to things. Generally, that is. Which is why some girls get frustrated with the average guy. Sensitive guys are the best, but really hard to find. LOL… and being cute doesn’t hurt either
