You are declared to be in right standing with God through faith. After believing in what Jesus did on the Cross of Calvary, it will prompt you to confess your sins to God and forsake them. Having done this, you are declared righteous before Him, He inputs Christ's righteousness unto you and put a seal of the Holy Ghost on you.
The quarrel between you and God is therefore settled. You are now in peace with Him. The peace that passeth all understandings will then envelope your heart. This peace is different from the false security some people get from possessing worldly goods. The false security gotten from possessing worldly goods will keep you in perpetual bondage. The peace from God will set you free from every worldly entanglement.
Therefore, no one can claim to have peace of mind without Jesus.
