Pandemimania

Romans 8:18, 26-27 ESV

“For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us…

“Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words. And he who searches hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.”

Apparently, the world at large is presently responding to the news of a “novel” virus which has purportedly reached pandemic levels world-wide. That has caused wide-spread panic, which was one of the intended purposes of this “novel” virus. For, fear mongering is the name of the game.

But, is there any real solid proof that this “novel” virus actually exists, or that the deaths reported were actually caused by this “novel” virus? Is there any way to verify the statistics which are being thrown at us by the hour, it seems, which also appear suspiciously inconsistent? And, what about the symptoms? They aren’t any different than flu symptoms. So, how do they know? And, can the people administering these tests be trusted? I doubt it.

You know something is up when “a few cases” show up in America and all of a sudden the nation begins to shut down. On what premise? And, then listen to all the predictions regarding how big this is going to be. Who is making these predictions? The ones behind this, perhaps? And, don’t call me a conspiracy theorist. Read the Bible. It is all in there, in Revelation, for sure.

For, this didn’t just come out of nowhere. Look at how orchestrated this is. Look at how many people, probably insiders, who are all of a sudden willing to shut down their businesses for perhaps 6 months or longer. Look at all the closings, and the stock market, and travel restrictions, all because of a small number of people in this nation purportedly dying from this “novel” virus. Doesn’t’ that seem a bit extreme to you? It does to me.

Personally, I don’t believe the virus actually exists. I could be wrong. I believe there is a reason why they call it the “novel” virus, but that could change. Things can always change, for confusion is also one of their games. They like to lead you one direction only to turn around and lead you in the opposite direction. They want us to be afraid, panicking, and confused.

But, does that mean that there is nothing to be concerned about, and that this is all just going to blow over, because other such scares previously did? Don’t count on it. They have an agenda with this, and it is called “Agenda 21.” And, you can read about it in the book of Revelation in chapter 13, in particular. They have been plotting this for a very long time. And, they will be allowed to accomplish their goals, to a point. For, God is still in control.

So, don’t take this lightly and think it is just going to blow over. If it does, they will try again. One day it is going to be the “real deal,” otherwise scripture is not true to its word. It might be now, and it might be later, but prophecy of scripture will be fulfilled, and it is being fulfilled right now.

So, as Christians, what should our response be to all of this? First off we have to stop listening to all of the propaganda out there in the media that is frightening people and which is causing them to panic. God has called us to a life of suffering, so we should not be afraid to suffer, if that is where this is all headed.

Then, we must turn to the Lord for his counsel, and for his wisdom and direction. We must ask for spiritual discernment, too, but then we have to repent of any known sins, and we have to walk in obedience to our Lord, or we aren’t going to have spiritual discernment. And, when we don’t know what to pray about this, we ask for the Spirit of God to intercede for us, and then to witness to our spirits what our response should be, which is not fear.

Romans 8:28-30 ESV

“And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose. For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. And those whom he predestined he also called, and those whom he called he also justified, and those whom he justified he also glorified.”

And, then we have to have this attitude in mind. We have to believe that God is working all things out for good for those who love God and who have been called according to his purpose. But, “good,” means what is truly best for us, what will benefit us spiritually, and what will bring people to Christ.

But, “good” doesn’t mean absence of pain and suffering, or absence of persecution. Ultimately good is our salvation from sin and our eternal life with God, which is God’s intended purpose for our suffering, that we might become like him in his holiness and that we might have a fruitful harvest of righteousness (Rom. 5:3-5; Phil. 3:7-11; 1 Pet. 4:12-17; Heb. 12:3-12).

And, let me also point out here that this ultimate good, which is our salvation from sin, and eternal life with God, is promised to us on the basis that we love God, and that we have been called according to his purposes.

So, what does it mean to love God? It means to obey him (Jn. 8:51; Jn. 14:23-24; Rom. 6:16; Heb. 5:9; 1 Jn. 2:3-6; 1 Jn. 3:24; John 15).

And, to be called according to his purposes means that God’s calling on our lives, in saving us from our sins, is that we walk in his ways, in his truth, according to the Spirit of God, and according to his commands (Lu. 9:23-26; Rom. 6:1-23; Rom. 8:1-17; Eph. 4:17-24; 1 Jn. 1:5-9; Tit. 2:11-14).

So, don’t let this pandemic mania (Pandemania) disturb your spirits or get you afraid. None of this takes God by surprise, and if we are students of the scriptures, and especially if we have been watching world events for some time in relation to prophecy of scripture, it should not take us by surprise, either. We should have known something like this was coming, and we should know the ultimate end of it, too (Read the book of Revelation).

Romans 8:31-39 ESV

“What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things? Who shall bring any charge against God's elect? It is God who justifies. Who is to condemn? Christ Jesus is the one who died—more than that, who was raised—who is at the right hand of God, who indeed is interceding for us. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword? As it is written,

“‘For your sake we are being killed all the day long;
we are regarded as sheep to be slaughtered.’

“No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Okay, and so this really is the bottom line here. If we are truly “in Christ,” by God’s grace, through God-given faith in Jesus Christ, via dying with Christ to sin that we might live to Christ and to his righteousness, then we have no cause to fear any of this. We should be at peace. And, the counsel of the Lord should be what we seek after, not the counsel of our friends, or of politicians, etc. We need to be praying and asking God for wisdom here.

Now, this is not saying that no one is against us. They are! Big time! Satan is on the warpath, and his goal is to conquer us (Rev. 12-14). And, he has many followers who are also against us, and many more to come who will also rise up against us like they did against Jesus. So, we need to be prepared that things here could get a whole lot worse.

But, the point of this is that, because God is on our side, Satan can’t destroy us if we are putting our trust in the Lord and we are hiding in the shelter of the Almighty. And, this is why it is critical that we not play their games with them. For, that is how they get us. I know from experience.

So, nothing thrown at us is out of God’s hands. He has a purpose for it all. And, so through it all we need to keep surrendering our lives to the will of God, we have to not lose heart, and we have to keep believing God’s promises to us, even to the death, for many of us will be martyred for our walks of faith with Jesus Christ. Time will tell how soon.

All The Way My Savior Leads Me

Lyrics by Frances J Crosby, pub. 1875
Music by Robert Lowry, pub. 1875

All the way my Savior leads me,
What have I to ask beside?
Can I doubt His tender mercy,
Who through life has been my Guide?
Heav’nly peace, divinest comfort,
Here by faith in Him to dwell!
For I know, whate’er befall me,
Jesus doeth all things well.

All the way my Savior leads me,
Cheers each winding path I tread,
Gives me grace for every trial,
Feeds me with the living Bread.
Though my weary steps may falter
And my soul athirst may be,
Gushing from the Rock before me,
Lo! A spring of joy I see.

All the way my Savior leads me,
Oh, the fullness of His love!
Perfect rest to me is promised
In my Father’s house above.
When my spirit, clothed immortal,
Wings its flight to realms of day
This my song through endless ages:
Jesus led me all the way.
