Take a few minutes right now to worship your heavenly Father. Walk through these familiar verses and allow the Word of God to fill your soul.
God our Father has formed us with His hands and at the same time He has allowed us the freedom to evolve on our own. Ironically, real freedom comes when we turn to our Father and completely place ourselves in His hands.
“But now, O Lord, You are our Father, we are the clay, and You our potter; and all of us are the work of Your hand.” Isaiah 64:8 (NASB)
Our Father, our Creator, has perfectly formed all the heavenly bodies of the universe. The sun, the moon, and the stars were all created by our perfect Father. Unlike the shifting light in the sky, our Father is a constant source of illumination.
“Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shifting shadow.” James 1:17 (NASB)
Our perfect father redefined his relationship with us when he sent his Son to pay the price for our sin. By placing our faith in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, we now live with the assurances of our own resurrection.
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His great mercy has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.” 1 Peter 1:3 (NASB)
There is no greater love than that, which our perfect Father demonstrated, by sending His Son to die on our behalf. Our ultimate goal is to model that perfect love.
“Therefore you are to be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect.” Matthew 5:48 (NASB)
While we have never fully witnessed the total manifestation of God, it is through His perfect love that we experience Him completely.
“No one has seen God at any time; if we love one another, God abides in us, and His love is perfected in us.” 1 John 4:12 (NASB)
Demonstrating sincere love for God by serving others with love, is the true measure of one’s connection to our perfect Father. God is spirit, He is faithful and just, He is good, and His love endures forever.
“Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. The one who does not love does not know God, for God is love.” 1 John 4:7-8 (NASB)
