Origin Of The Bible - Bibliology Resources

"The term Bibliology (from Greek biblos meaning “book”) refers particularly to the study of the nature of the Bible as divine revelation. It often includes such topics as revelation, inspiration, inerrancy, canonicity, textual criticism, illumination, and interpretation." Greg Herrick

For almost as long as I can remember, this area of study has held great interest to me. Over the years I have managed to find and gather a number of resources, and wanted to share a few of them with those interested.

Select Online Resources:

Bible Research (This is the greatest site I've ever come across concerning the history of Bible translations, the canon, and Biblical interpretation, check out the SITE MAP to get an idea of just how extensive this wonderful site truly is. Information about the author is found here.)

Daniel B. Wallace (Read his BIO I think it speaks for itself. I first learned about him through Biblicaltraining.org and his work on the NET Bible)

The Center for the Study of New Testament Manuscripts (It is amazing to actually see surviving manuscripts, even fragments, especially in HD. Daniel B. Wallace is the Executive Director)

The Development of the New Testament Canon (This is an interesting site, and what sets it apart is that it deals largely with the Canon as it relates to the Early Church Fathers. Like this chart, which assuming an accuracy shows opinions of the EFC's concerning the authority of individual N.T. "books".)

Records of the International Council on Biblical Inerrancy (This is the primary source which includes a good deal in addition to the Chicago statement, including a list of signatories, signatures, useful information)

Truth & Power: The Place of Scripture in the Christian Life by J.I. Packer (an online book, part of the ccel library of Christian books)

God's Canon by Steve Hays (an ebook pertaining to the Biblical Canon, Over the years Steve has written a number of occasional pieces on the Protestant canon of Scripture. These were frequently written in response to Roman Catholic or Eastern Orthodox attacks on the Protestant canon of Scripture. Oftentimes he summarizes or quotes from various scholars to make their scholarship available to readers who may not have ready access to their works. This is a collection of those pieces.)

William Tyndale (The first man to translate the New Testament into the English language)

Bible Hub (Apart from Bible Software, a favorite place to quickly search the Bible, including parallel translations, Commentaries, and more.)

I need to call it good (as unfinished and incomplete as it is) for this blog entry, considerable effort has been put into it, enough that I am exhausted. Perhaps I will take some time to listen or re-listen to a few of these soon. Where to even begin with so many?
