Notes: Ecclesiastes 11:5 To Isaiah 7

*Ecclesiastes 11:5 / *Eccl. 11:5 -

(*Spirit)

What science today is missing, in its search for a "Theory of Everything" which can unify all of the physical forces in the universe, is spirit. So by continuing to exclude the whole idea of spirit, science can never hope to understand the universe at its most fundamental level, or what its ultimate origin was: "As thou knowest not what is the way of the spirit . . . even so thou knowest not the works of God who maketh all" (Ecclesiastes 11:5).

The relationship between the spiritual and the physical may be analogous to the relationship between energy and matter. Just as the relationship of energy to matter is summarized by the equation e=mc², meaning that immense amounts of energy are congealed and compacted, as it were, to form each tiny particle of matter, so the relationship between spirit and energy could theoretically be summarized by the equation s=ec³, meaning that immense amounts of spirit may be congealed and compacted, as it were, to form each tiny photon of energy. All energy being based on spirit would make sense, for God is a Spirit (John 4:24), and in Him everything consists (Colossians 1:17, Acts 17:28).

When science's equations regarding such things as the Big Bang singularity, black holes, and quantum entanglement require the inclusion of infinities, these infinities should not be seen as "failures", but as pointers to something going beyond the boundaries of the physical: that is, spirit. If science ever becomes able to describe spirit mathematically using proportional numbers rather than infinities, this could lead to new technologies (e.g. spiritual power plants, spiritual bombs), just as when science became able to describe atomic nuclei mathematically, this led to new technologies (e.g. nuclear power plants, nuclear bombs).

Just as energy consists of both particles (photons) and waves (electromagnetic waves) at the same time, so the basis for all energy, spirit, could consist of both particles (spiritons) and waves at the same time. If spirit is equivalent to consciousness, and consciousness consists of logic, emotion, and memory, then spiritual waves could consist of three sine waves (logic waves, emotion waves, and memory waves) interlocked at sixty-degree angles, just as electromagnetism consists of two sine waves (electric waves and magnetic waves) interlocked at a ninety-degree angle. But by our current, strictly-physical-based mathematics, a spiritual wave or spiriton would show up in a calculation as an infinity, and so it could be mistakenly rejected by our current science as a "failure". It is possible that by creating a mathematics which involves five dimensions of space-time (instead of four), the apparently infinite value of a spiritual wave or spiriton could be reduced to a proportional value.

String Theory has shown that it is mathematically possible that space-time has more than three spatial dimensions. Because of observations such as Daniel 5:5, John 20:26b, and Luke 24:31b, the spiritual realm could be a fourth spatial dimension in which spiritual entities are able to move about without being seen by physical entities in our three physical spatial dimensions, because our physical eyes, and light as we know it, extend in only three physical spatial dimensions. The spiritual spatial dimension would be higher than our three physical spatial dimensions in the same sense that a third physical spatial dimension is higher than two physical spatial dimensions. And so from the spiritual spatial dimension, our three physical spatial dimensions may appear flat (or flatter), just as from three physical spatial dimensions, something in two physical spatial dimensions would appear flat. An entity with access to the spiritual spatial dimension could do such things as enter only part of himself into the physical realm (Daniel 5:5), or suddenly appear in a locked room (John 20:26b), or suddenly disappear (Luke 24:31b). This ability would apply not only to spiritual beings (1 Corinthians 15:44, Luke 24:39), but also to any spiritual wave or particle.

If spiritual particles exist, they could turn out to be "the God Particle" of science. While the Large Hadron Collider has reached a high-enough energy level so that a "God Particle" (a Higgs boson) has manifested itself, its observed qualities might ultimately be able to be described only by equations involving infinities, so that its qualities and actions could ultimately be seen as "impossible" and "spooky", instead of science finally admitting to the existence of a substance which is spiritual. And spirit would not have to be seen by scientists as some weird, foreign substance, but rather as the most fundamental substance of even their own selves (1 Thessalonians 5:23). And could spirit also be the basis for the "dark matter" and "dark energy" which together make up 96% of the universe, but which science cannot yet observe directly or explain?

The really sad and dangerous thing is that even if science does eventually determine that "the God Particle" (or some other particle, detected at even higher, Large-Hadron-Collider energy levels) is a spiritual particle, which science could come to call the "spiriton", some scientists could still refuse to believe in and submit themselves to YHWH God of the Bible, saying that the existence of spirit per se does not require that there is one infinite, conscious spirit-being named YHWH God (John 4:24, Mark 12:30, Deuteronomy 6:5). And in its subsequent experiments with spirit, science could come into contact with the evil spirit-being named Lucifer (Satan), who could manifest himself in some future, ultra-high-energy, Large-Hadron-Collider experiment and claim that he is the true and beneficent God of mankind, and must be worshipped instead of YHWH. In this way, a nascent spiritual science could be hijacked and employed by Lucifer and his current worshippers as one part of their future deception by which the world will eventually be deceived into consciously and openly worshipping Lucifer (Satan, the dragon) and his human son the Antichrist (the individual-man aspect of Revelation's "beast") as God (Revelation 13:4-18, Revelation 12:9; 2 Thessalonians 2:4, Daniel 11:36), instead of YHWH (Revelation 13:6, Daniel 11:36).

(Re: A *tower device)

The unity of mankind which will occur at that future time could be like the unity of mankind which occurred at the time of the Tower of Babel (Genesis 11:6). And there could even be a future equivalent to the Tower of Babel, which could be built in the literal, rebuilt city of Babylon (in Iraq). For Lucifer (Satan) could show mankind how to build there a huge tower device, a spiritual machine the size of the Empire State Building, which will be able to send into the sky an incredibly-powerful spiritual beam analogous to a laser. Near the end of the future Tribulation of Revelation chapters 6 to 18 and Matthew 24, Lucifer could tell mankind that it will need to employ this huge weapon during an impending battle against YHWH (Revelation 16:14b, Revelation 19:19). Mixing some science fiction with some ancient lies of Gnosticism, Lucifer could tell mankind something like:

"YHWH will soon come down to the earth in his gigantic spaceship which is shaped like a Borg Cube [cf. Revelation 21:16]. He is coming to enslave you all and turn you all into Borg-like drones. But this mighty Tower Device will be able to blow his Borg Cube and him to bits with its spiritual ray. Then we can focus the Tower Device on any point of empty space until it burns in space-time a hole, a portal through which I will lead your spirits out of this vile, material universe which YHWH made to be our prison. And I will lead you back up into the purely-spiritual realm of the Pleroma [i.e. Heaven], where you can live as gods in bliss, doing what you please, forever, just as you had done with me for all ages past, before we by mistake fell into YHWH's trap of this material universe".

Before Jesus Christ's future, Second Coming from heaven, Lucifer could prove the power of the Tower Device to mankind by letting the Antichrist and his False Prophet (of Revelation 19:20) use it to blow up some large asteroids, and even some moons of other planets, so that mankind will go into its battle against YHWH in full confidence that it will be able to destroy him. But when the battle comes, the device will not work against YHWH (cf. Psalms 21:11, KJV). Instead, Jesus Christ (who is YHWH: John 10:30, Zechariah 14:3-4) will descend from heaven and take total victory in the battle (Revelation 19:11 to 20:6).

(Re: A *brain device of deception)

It has been claimed that magnetic fields applied to certain areas of the brain can cause a subject who is alone in a room to sense other human-shaped entities in the room. Materialists could explain this as a magnetically-induced spatial displacement of the subject's mental image of his own body. This might be correct. Or, in some cases it could involve a magnetically-induced enhancement of the subject's brain so that he can sense spiritual entities, whether a spatially-displaced sense of his own spirit (cf. 1 Thessalonians 5:23), or a spatially correct sense of an external spiritual entity such as a guardian angel (cf. Acts 12:15b), a fallen angel (Ephesians 6:12), a demon (Mark 5:8), or a ghost (Luke 24:37).

It is possible that sometime in the future, scientists could magnetically induce something like Christians' experience of God's Holy Spirit, if by employing Functional Near-Infrared Spectroscopy (fNIRS) and/or Functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (fMRI), scientists are able to find that part of Christians' brains which is most active when they are sensing the Holy Spirit (e.g. while they are listening to worship music and worshipping God), and which shows little to no activity when they are not sensing the Holy Spirit (e.g. while they are listening to a sports talk show). If there is such a part of the brain, scientists could then apply magnetic fields to it while Christian subjects are not sensing the Holy Spirit, and then see if it induces a sense of the Holy Spirit in them.

If scientists manage to do this, it could be employed by the future Antichrist to try to deceive Christians, along with the rest of the world, into worshipping Lucifer (Satan, the dragon), and the Antichrist (the individual-man aspect of Revelation's "beast"), and a speaking image of the Antichrist, during the Antichrist's future, literal 3.5-year worldwide reign (Revelation 13:4-18, Revelation 12:9). For what the Antichrist and his False Prophet (of Revelation 19:20) could do is have scientists fashion small (what they could call) "spiritual reality" devices, like the size of a Bluetooth earpiece, which could be easily worn on the head at all times, and which could generate magnetic fields right over the part of the brain which gives people a similar sense of spiritual assurance of truth which the Holy Spirit gives to Christians (John 16:13). And these devices could be remotely activated on people's heads by broadcast, cell phone, or Wi-Fi signals whenever the Antichrist or his False Prophet are speaking to the world their false doctrines through the TV or the internet, so that the people of the world will get an overwhelming sense that what the Antichrist and False Prophet are saying is the absolute truth.

Or, if most of the world will have no need of such devices because of the False Prophet's amazing, deceiving miracles (Revelation 13:13-14a, Revelation 19:20), and because of the "strong delusion" sent by God upon unrepentant people (2 Thessalonians 2:11-12), then the use of the devices could be focused on Christians, and any other people who refuse to follow the Antichrist. Christians could be arrested and placed in "reeducation camps", where they will be strapped into chairs and forced to watch long speeches by the Antichrist and his False Prophet while the devices are active on the Christians' heads, with the hope that eventually the Christians will come to accept the Antichrist, based on the "good spiritual feelings" which they will get (from the devices) while listening to the speeches.

It is vital for Christians to never base any of their doctrinal beliefs only on spiritual feelings (Proverbs 28:26, Proverbs 14:12). All doctrines must be checked against God's Word the Holy Bible (2 Timothy 3:16 to 4:4; 1 Timothy 4:16). For "the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils" (1 Timothy 4:1). Jesus Christ said: "If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed" (John 8:31b).

~

{Re: Regarding your reference in the section above to "reeducation camps", is not that idea a little farfetched?)

Not at all. For note that China is already building huge "reeducation camps" in its far-western, Muslim region, in order to brainwash the millions of restive Muslims there into becoming supporters of the Communist Party, instead of them thinking about regional autonomy. And liberals even in the U.S. love the idea of "reeducating" people. For example, the liberal comic strip called "Doonesbury" not long ago ran a Sunday strip in which a liberal character daydreams about a future President Biden sending Trump supporters to reeducation centers to help transform them into liberal thinkers. Similarly, Hillary Clinton, during the past Presidential campaign, even said something like: "there are some people who will have to change their beliefs", as in those beliefs, even Biblical ones, which are opposed to "political correctness".

(Re: *Spooky action at a distance / Quantum *entanglement)

The only reason that some events at the quantum level appear to science to be impossible is because of science's refusal to see the infinities in its equations as pointing to spirit (Ecclesiastes 11:5). For example, "spooky action at a distance" requires that information travel between two particles at an infinite speed. But instead of science seeing this as pointing to "spirit action" associated with the physical realm, science only shrugs and calls it "spooky action".

~

(Re: What about "hidden variables" and "many worlds"?)

The competing theories of "hidden variables" and "many worlds" would still require, from a strictly-physical point of view, an infinite number of hidden variables or worlds. So quantum entanglement, from a strictly-physical point of view, requires an infinity (whether of speed, or variables, or worlds), and so can point to spirit (Ecclesiastes 11:5).

~

(Re: *Science vs. faith?)

There is no actual conflict between science and Biblical faith, for nothing proven true by science has ever proven anything in the Bible to be false.

~

(Re: With science, is not there no need for faith?)

Even with science, there is still a need for Christian faith. For it is only through faith in Jesus Christ that people can be saved from hell (John 3:16,36).

~

(Re: God of the gaps?)

God is not a God of the gaps, but the Creator of everything that exists (John 1:3, Romans 1:20, Psalms 19:1-4).

(See also Romans 1:20 below)

~

(Re: Is not faith just credulity misrepresented as a virtue?)

Christian faith is not credulity (an undue readiness of belief). For people cannot believe the Bible apart from God granting them His miraculous gift of faith (Ephesians 2:8, John 6:65; 1 Corinthians 3:5b). For the same reason, faith is not a virtue of Christians. For they did not do anything to receive the gift of faith. It is granted to them wholly by God's grace (Ephesians 2:8-9). And because faith is not a virtue, Christians have to add virtue (right actions) to their faith (2 Peter 1:5).

~

(Re: Are not feelings the way to get spiritual information and real faith?)

No, see 2 John 1:9 below.

~

(Re: Is not science based on *reason/*logic, while faith is not?)

When Christians are granted God's miraculous gift of faith in Jesus Christ (Ephesians 2:8, John 6:65; 1 Corinthians 3:5b), they do not abandon reason/logic, but also accept God's reason/logic, which is far more excellent than human reason/logic on its own (Isaiah 55:8-9, Isaiah 1:18; 1 Corinthians 2:4-5,12-16). Human reason/logic (human wisdom) on its own is infinitesimal (cf. Isaiah 40:17) and foolishness compared with God's reason/logic (God's wisdom). And yet human wisdom on its own is so proud that it considers God's wisdom to be foolishness (1 Corinthians 1:18-21; 1 Corinthians 2:14).

Human reason/logic can convince people that they are on the right path, when in fact they are not (Proverbs 14:12, Proverbs 16:25). For example, Hitler and his tens of millions of followers were convinced that their reason/logic had placed them on the right path, when in fact all it did is place them and millions of others on the path of an early death. That is, not only did it result in the slaughter of millions of Nazi soldiers and civilians, but also millions of Jews and others in the Holocaust, and all of the tens of millions of other non-Nazi people who died in the battles and bombings during World War II. Similarly, Stalin, Mao, and Pol Pot thought that their atheistic reason/logic had placed them and their nations on the right path, when in fact all it did is result in the horrible suffering and early death of millions of their own people.

(Re: Regarding the "Spirit" section of Ecclesiastes 11:5 above, I found it to be *complex. But is not the Bible's message *simple and clear?)

Yes.

For example:

[John 4:24]

But then we might ask: "But what is 'spirit'?"

~

(Re: Is not the Bible's message so simple that even a child can grasp it with a little help?)

Yes, in the sense of grasping the Bible's message enough to be saved from hell, and to begin growing in the Lord Jesus Christ. For:

[2 Timothy 3:15, Mark 10:14b-16, Matthew 18:10, 1 Peter 2:2]

But we as Christian adults should also always be striving to have greater and greater understanding. For:

[1 Corinthians 14:20; 1 Corinthians 3:2, Hebrews 5:12-14]

~

(Re: In order for God to reach the masses with all of His vast wisdom, He knew that He had to keep it simple)

Note that not everything has to be for the masses. For example:

Mark 4:34 . . . without a parable spake he not unto them: and when they were alone, he expounded all things to his disciples.

Matthew 13:11 . . . Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.

*Song of Solomon 3:5 / *Song 3:5 -

The original Hebrew word (tsebiy: H6643) translated as "roes" can refer to male deer (roebucks: 1 Kings 4:23), or to gazelles (Strong's Hebrew Dictionary).

The Hebrew word ('ayalah: H0355) translated as "hinds", like the English word, can refer to female deer.

--

*Song of Solomon 6:12 / *Song 6:12 -

The original Hebrew words (am: H5971; and nadiyb: H5081) transliterated as "Amminadib" could be the name of a person, or they could refer to "my noble nation". For nadiyb can mean "noble" (Proverbs 8:16), and am can mean "nation" (Deuteronomy 28:33).

*Song of Solomon 6:13 / *Song 6:13 -

"Shulamite" (H7759) could mean "peaceful one".

See Ezekiel 16 below.

--

*Isaiah 1:31 / *Isa. 1:31 -

The original Hebrew word (ne`oreth: H5296) translated as "tow" can refer to broken bits of flax fiber, which would burn up in an instant.

--

*Isaiah 2:1-4 / *Isa. 2:1 -

This refers to the earthly Jerusalem during the future Millennium (Zechariah 14:8-21, Revelation 20:4-6).

--

*Isaiah 2:4 / *Isa. 2:4 -

". . . neither shall they learn war any more" (Isaiah 2:4, Micah 4:3).

Here the original Hebrew word (`owd: H5750) translated as "any more" can be translated as "moreover" (Ezekiel 23:38, Exodus 3:15). So Isaiah 2:4 (and Micah 4:3) can mean that during the future Millennium, nations not only will not wage war against each other; moreover, they will not even teach how to wage war. That is, there will not even be any military colleges or training bases during the Millennium.

--

*Isaiah 2:6-22 / *Isa. 2:6 -

Isaiah 2:6-9,22 can apply to any time, including the future Tribulation, whereas Isaiah 2:10-21 refers to Jesus Christ's future, Second Coming, which will not occur until immediately after the Tribulation (Matthew 24:29-31).

--

*Isaiah 2:12-21 / *Isa. 2:12 -

(Re: Means that the Day of the Lord is the Tribulation?)

No, for the Day of the Lord in Isaiah 2:10-21 has to begin at the Lord Jesus Christ's future, Second Coming, not at the start of the future Tribulation of Revelation chapters 6 to 18 and Matthew 24. For during the second half of the Tribulation, it is Satan (the dragon) and his human son the Antichrist (the individual-man aspect of Revelation's "beast") who will be exalted by the world (Revelation 13:4-18, Revelation 12:9), not YHWH, which would contradict "YHWH alone shall be exalted in that day" (Isaiah 2:17).

Also, during the second half of the Tribulation, the world will worship the ultimate idol, the image of the Antichrist (Revelation 13:14-15), which would contradict that in that day "the idols he [YHWH] shall utterly abolish" (Isaiah 2:18).

So the people hiding in the rocks at Jesus Christ's future, Second Coming (Isaiah 2:19-21) has to be a separate instance from the people hiding in the rocks at one point during only the first stage of the future Tribulation (Revelation 6:15-16). It is not like people can hide in rocks only one time. Some people did it way back in 1 Samuel 13:6, for example. And Hosea 10:8b refers to the fall of Samaria in 722 BC (Hosea 10:7-8). And Luke 23:30 can include reference to the fall of Jerusalem in 70 AD (Luke 23:28-30). So Revelation 6:16 can be just one more instance, years before Jesus' Second Coming in Isaiah 2:10-21, where "the glory of his majesty" is the same as in Matthew 24:30, at the Second Coming.

(See also 2 Thessalonians 2:2 below, and paragraphs 4-5 of 1 Thessalonians 5:9 below)

--

*Isaiah 2:20 / *Isa. 2:20 -

This can occur at Jesus Christ's future, Second Coming. For people will still have idols during the preceding Tribulation (Revelation 9:20).

--

*Isaiah 3:1-7 / *Isa. 3:1 -

This can refer to the ruin of Jerusalem in 586 BC, for present-day Jerusalem will not be ruined (and by all nations) until right before Jesus Christ's future, Second Coming (Zechariah 14).

--

*Isaiah 3:18 / *Isa. 3:18 -

The original Hebrew word (saharon: H7720) translated as "round tires like the moon" can refer to round pendants for the neck.

--

*Isaiah 3:20 / *Isa. 3:20 -

The original Hebrew words (bayith: H1004; and nephesh: H5315) translated as "tablets" can refer to "animal hangings". For bayith can mean "hangings" (2 Kings 23:7), and nephesh can mean "beast", in the sense of an animal (Leviticus 24:18). These "animal hangings" could have been a clothing accessory which hung down and was embroidered with pictures of animals.

*Isaiah 3:22 / *Isa. 3:22 -

The original Hebrew word (ma`ataphah: H4595) translated as "mantles", like the English word, can refer to cloaks.

The Hebrew word (mitpachath: H4304) translated as "wimples" could refer to veils (Ruth 3:15), or to wide cloaks (Strong's Hebrew Dictionary).

The Hebrew word (chariyt: H2754) translated as "crisping pins" could refer to purses or handbags (2 Kings 5:23).

(Yet in it shall be a tenth)

During the future Tribulation of Revelation chapters 6 to 18 and Matthew 24, things will get so bad that Jesus Christ said that if the allotted time for the Tribulation had not been shortened, no flesh would survive on the earth (Matthew 24:22). Because of Satan's and the future Antichrist's eventual, intentional (and probably nuclear) destruction of civilization worldwide (Isaiah 14:17, Revelation 17:16, Revelation 16:19) at the end of the Tribulation, and then Jesus Himself's subsequent killing of even more of sinful humanity at His Second Coming (Revelation 19:21, 2 Thessalonians 1:7-8, Isaiah 66:16), a mere one-tenth of humanity may be left alive to enter Jesus' Millennial Kingdom on the earth (Isaiah 6:11-13, Zechariah 14:16-21).

The fact that humanity cannot rid itself of its nuclear weapons shows how evil humanity is, which could result in its self-inflicted nuclear destruction.

*Isaiah 7:17-25 / *Isa. 7:17 -

This is addressed to Ahaz, who was king of Judah (Isaiah 7:12) from 735 to 720 BC. The king of Assyria in Isaiah 7:17 could be Tilgathpilneser (2 Chronicles 28:19-21, cf. 1 Chronicles 5:6), also called Tiglath-Pileser III (cf. 2 Kings 16:7,10), who ruled Assyria from 745 to 727 BC. And the rivers of Egypt in Isaiah 7:18 could refer to small rivers near the southern end of Philistia and its border with Egypt. For "the river of Egypt" was a small river (wadi) at the southern border of Israel in the land of the Philistines (Numbers 34:5, Joshua 15:4,47). So Isaiah 7:18 can refer to an invasion of Judah by both the Philistines and Tilgathpilneser in the time of King Ahaz (2 Chronicles 28:18-21).

*Isaiah 7:23 / *Isa. 7:23 -

The original Hebrew word (keceph: H3701) translated as "silverlings" can refer to silver coins.
