For many years, I have gone to church even though I really didn't want to because I felt obligated to go. I would go and hop from church to church and never did settle on one church to join. I wish I felt differently about it. I would like to be a part of something bigger than myself and serve others in a church. But, I can't seem to find a place I feel good about. So, today I didn't go anywhere.
What I am wanting and looking for. I don't think it is too much to ask to go to a church and feel welcome and that people are interested in welcoming you. Being a part of a family like atmosphere is something I would enjoy. What's the point of even going if you don't feel welcome. You can watch services on television. The only thing that would make it worthwhile is if there was a place to serve where I could help people, but sadly I find that many churches don't reach out and don't seem to care about the real needs of people around them. All around us people have problems with depression, anxiety, financial distress, personal distress in relationships and the church yawns and doesn't seem to care one whit.
