as previously noted - my son lost his job a few months ago (he's going to school, but no luck finding a new job) and my d-i-l's job is only part time (she's an esthetician and is building a clientèle slowly but surely, but these days fewer people are spending money on extras like facials) and like many others are having some tough financial times, so . . . .
their family is moving in with us today - for at least one to two months (they've been living in what was my m-i-l's home - but can no longer afford the utilities, much less the rent)
as hard on them as I know this is - I'd like to see them stay here for a year, pay off their debt and build up some savings (and then DH can sell his mom's house which I know he wants to do) and then start fresh - and out of debt
one of my daughter's apartment mates has to move out and the two remaining girls (one of whom is my daughter) can't afford the apartment by themselves (especially since my daughter is starting her student teaching in January which will limit her availability at her paying job) so she's moving back home over Christmas break.
so . . . .
DH & I are going from being empty nesters to a household of 7
now we have the room and we all get along - but 5 adults plus two very active young boys (4 & 7 years) it's just going to be different and I know that there will be times that my patience will be tested and that there will be times when fatigue will get the better of me -
on top of which - things have been a tad difficult for DH and me the past month or so (he's a recovering alcoholic and was recently drinking again, me saying I'm done has sent him back to AA and this time it appears he's really committed to staying sober - but only time will tell)
life is interesting - God's sure putting a lot on my plate right now
