Is your local church system worried about how they will balance their budget in the face of the present pandemic? Do you feel external pressure to give more to make sure they stay afloat? Are your pastors and elders thinking of creative ways to meet the needs of their local institution? I have little doubt that the Lord would tell them to seek Him for their needs instead of trying to figure out how they are going to pay for "God's work." Jesus taught us over and over again that the Father will supply all of our needs according to His riches in glory. Seeking any other means from any other source is exactly what religious pagan's do to make ends meet. Many are crying out, "If we all do not give more now, how will we be able to remain open in the future?" Jesus answered this question, "Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Today has enough trouble of its own." Matthew 6:34
Hence, where will those truly serving Christ get the means and resources they will need to serve the kingdom of heaven? "And my God will supply all your needs according to His glorious riches in Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:19 Regrettably, today we have far too many who claim to be in Christ and yet act as though they have no faith in Him at all. Jesus said, "Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the Gentiles (those who do not place their full trust in God) strive after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added unto you." Matthew 6:31-33
Therefore, if these modern-day so-called "Christian" institutions are truly part of the Father's plan, and they are placing their full trust in Him, they have nothing to worry about! The real question that needs to be answered is whether or not these manmade establishments are truly serving the kingdom of heaven or serving their own religious purpose? Consequently, they may simply be self-serving establishments and therefore must seek external funding to stay afloat. Far too many who claim to know Christ are part of these Laodicean establishments Jesus warned us about. "I know your deeds; you are neither cold nor hot. How I wish you were one or the other! So because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to vomit you out of My mouth! You say, ‘I am rich; I have grown wealthy and need nothing.’ But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind, and naked. I counsel you to buy from Me gold refined by fire so that you may become rich, white garments so that you may be clothed and your shameful nakedness not exposed, and salve to anoint your eyes so that you may see. Those I love, I rebuke and discipline. Therefore be earnest and repent." Revelation 3:15-19
We who are truly in Christ do not need to hold onto anything in this world, and this includes manmade religious minded establishments! We simply need to have a heart prepared to leave everything behind to follow Jesus wherever He wants us to go to do whatever He wants us to do. This is walking by faith! What the local church system offers is mankind's attempt to define what the Fathers will is for our lives and what He would want us to do while we are here on earth. They have learned nothing from what the scriptures tell us concerning the religious Jews who mocked and crucified Christ because He was not aligned with their beliefs. Looking at today's so-called Christianity or local church system it seems quite clear that not much has changed. These misled institutions are leading far too many away from the narrow path the true follower of Christ must walk. It is time for those who are truly in Christ to wake up and unite as One Body (the Church) serving the kingdom of heaven according to the will of our Heavenly Father. "Whoever claims to abide in Him must walk as Jesus walked." 1 John 2:6
