I was filling out some stuff for the "OurStory" site, like where you save old memories & all. It asked a question about old TV Shows. Yea, I remember most of them I used to watch as a kid, but I really don't feel any kind of connection to them- don't really feel much if I see it again. Even it's like, I can't believe I liked that?
Then I thought about how it's different with the music. I hear an old clip or see a video from an old song that I liked and it brings back a flood of memories.
Like I was reminded of how much I liked the Bay City Rollers, I think they were like my first crush (in a loong line of many), my first "teen idols". I wasn't even pre-teen, I was only about 6. Then there was Shaun Cassidy (don't know know what I saw i him ), Andy Gibb and so on.
At the same time I was looking around and I saw an old old friend of mine. I guess you could say my first best friend (lol that's how it was, not you could say that).
When they came along I was soo attached. And, when I moved away I was so crushed. I never thought I could find another friend like her. Then I came to have another best friend that I was close with. Since, at that time I was going through a lot of stuff, I wasn't quite sure of my feelings for them. Like, I knew deep down we were best friends, but I also was having a hard time dealing with being close (and spending a lot of time together) and kind of wanted to deny how much they meant to me- at the same time. Then after I moved from there, it hit me even clearer what a good friend they had been to me. Then I went through a "dry" & lonely time.. and I missed our friendship. Then I came to have another close friend, and it's the same thing. Stuff happens and you (I ) think you'll never find another like that (or another firendship that good)...
Time moves on... I suppose I should keep up hope, or should I not even care, or should I care if I don't care...
reminds me this second of a new song I heard the other day (that I like & is fitting). Fits here although I'm not relating it to friendships- that I got to move on from... but other things- once again -sigh-
( I was thinking of posting an old Bay City Rollers video? But, I'm glad better judgement has prevailed )
