"...we trusted in him…". In whom is your trust, oh Christian? Are trusting in sons of men in whose breath is in their nostril?
"This is what the Lord says: “Cursed is the one who trusts in man, who draws strength from mere flesh and whose heart turns away from the Lord. That person will be like a bush in the wastelands; they will not see prosperity when it comes. They will dwell in the parched places of the desert, in a salt land where no one lives." (Jeremiah 17:5-6 NIV)
Anyone that trusts another human is placing himself under a terrible curse. This kind of curse is not from witches and wizards, but from the Lord Himself. Do not think that it is only a personal decision for you to place your trust in whatever pleases you. It is safe for you to trust God, but when you trust man it comes with consequences. Trusting in man is an assault against God. It also insults His personality. Whenever someone promises you something, trust God to bring it to pass.
ACTION PLAN: Check your heart and ask God to reveal who you are trusting.
PRAYER: Father, remove every curse I brought upon my life by trusting in another human rather than you.
