Wednesday, April 15, 2009, 3:05 a.m. – Again, this song is in my head:
Jesus, I My Cross Have Taken / Henry F. Lyte / Mozart/ Arr. Hubert P. Main
Jesus, I my cross have taken,
All to leave and follow Thee;
Destitute, despised, forsaken,
Thou, from hence, my all shalt be.
Perish every fond ambition,
All I've sought, and hoped, and known;
Yet how rich is my condition,
God and Christ are still my own!
Let the world despise and leave me,
They have left my Savior, too;
Human hearts and looks deceive me;
Thou art not, like man, untrue;
And, while Thou shalt smile upon me,
God of wisdom, love, and might,
Foes may hate, and friends disown me;
Show Thy face, and all is bright.
Man may trouble and distress me,
'Twill but drive me to Thy breast;
Life with trials hard may press me,
Christ will bring me sweeter rest.
O 'tis not in grief to harm me,
While Thy love is left to me;
O 'twere not in joy to charm me,
Were that joy unmixed with Thee…
I also woke from A DREAM: Several of us were given a sum of money. A certain woman was also given a sum of money, after which time she disappeared, perhaps for a month or more. I was concerned that she had told someone about the money and that she had fallen victim to foul play. Not even her children knew where she was, at least not that any of them admitted, though I suspected that one of them might know.
I seemed to be caring for her children (all 4 girls) who are all adults now. Her X-husband came by the house, but he never came inside. He would just stay outside the window and would speak using signals of some kind.
Someone stopped me outside this house one day and asked me why I was going inside and I said it was because I lived there.
I was inside the house and was looking at the money I had been given. Then a man came into the house, so I put the money back inside my purse.
I gathered this woman’s children together to help me collect food for the poor. We had an outside storage building with lots of food in it, so I told them we were going to go through the food and check for dates. If the food was past due (expired), we were going to toss it out, but if it was getting near the date of expiration, then we were going to give it away.
Somewhere in here the woman showed up. I told her that none of us knew where she was when she went missing, and I told her of my concern that she had possibly fallen victim to foul play, yet it appeared that she had just decided to go on vacation and just didn’t tell anyone.
One of her daughters was in need of medicine, so I directed the mother to take care of her daughter and to provide for her needs. END
As I was recording this last part of the dream, the Lord brought this song to mind:
Oh Lord, You're Beautiful / Keith Green
Oh Lord, you're beautiful,
Your face is all I seek,
For when your eyes are on this child,
Your grace abounds to me.
Oh Lord, please light the fire,
That once burned bright and clear.
Replace the lamp of my first love,
That burns with Holy fear.
I want to take your word and shine it all around.
But first help me just to live it Lord.
And when I'm doing well, help me to never seek a crown.
For my reward is giving glory to you.
Speak, Lord, for your servant is listening. I read I Timothy 2:
Thursday, April 16, 2009, 5:00 a.m. – I woke to the song, “Oh Lord, You’re Beautiful” – wonderful words! I talked with the Lord about ministry to women, in particular, though I prayed about other things, as well. Then, I read I Timothy 5 and immediately saw how it also tied in with this dream, so I’m going to share it here (vv 3-16):
My Understanding: The sum of money represents spiritual giftedness or spiritual treasures. The dream is intended to be a comparison between two widows, so I am representing a widow in this dream evidently. One widow (a divorcee in this case) gets her gifts from the Lord but she takes a vacation and doesn’t even tell anyone she has left, so it is more like abandonment – she is not a woman who takes care of her family. 5:6 says this: “But the widow who lives for pleasure is dead even while she lives.” I do believe this sums it up pretty well. At the end of this second passage, as in the end of the dream, this widow is encouraged to care for her own family.
The other widow is one who puts away her gifting in her purse (rewards) when a man entered the room, because she is not to instruct a man in a manner in which she is in authority over him, yet women can prophesy in the church publicly and they are to be witnesses. This widow also cares for other people’s children, she gives to the poor, she is concerned about those who have wandered away from the faith, and she is known for her hospitality, her good deeds, and helping those in trouble.
I believe this dream, thus, is for the purpose of encouraging those without a husband to live according to the standards set forth in these passages of scripture, though some of these principles certainly apply to all women.
