"Come with me from Lebanon, my bride,
come with me from Lebanon.
Descend from the crest of Amana,
from the top of Senir, the summit of Hermon,
from the lions’ dens
and the mountain haunts of leopards."
-Song of Songs 4:8
A verse the Lord laid on my heart this morning. The winding, broad paths that lead up to the mountaintops of pride are tempting, but always lead to peril sooner or later. Up in the mountains are where the lions and leopards reside. Pride seeks to destroy whatever it can: our relationships with others, our loved ones or even ourselves.
The God we serve is humble, meek and lowly in heart (Matthew 11:29), and desires for us to be the same. Humility == true peace, and is obedience in action. Journey down with Him.
