Jesus And The Art Of War (part 1)

In my previous blog Jesus Came To Bring Division Not Peace: The Art Of War (introduction) I wrote that Jesus came to bring war instead of peace yet, many are disillusioned into believing that by just believing in Jesus all will simply vanish and that we don't need to do anything. This is utter nonsense and a complete show of ignorance that peace is followed by war which is followed by peace: this fact is narrated in Genesis when all the world was at peace and order in Eden. Once sin entered in, war and chaos broke loose: therefore Jesus promised that at His second coming all will go back to the way God had created everything in the Beginning. That is why a new heaven and earth will be created once the old heaven earth are destroyed; and, why man will be given the chance to eat from the Tree of Life and live forever with God in Eden. Despite this many are deceived into believing otherwise but, why? The Bible and The Art of War give us the answer:

"Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the YHWH God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden? And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die. And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil."
- Genesis 3:1-5

"One who does not know the enemy and does not know himself will be in danger in every battle."

- The Art of War 3:24b

Here we see that the Serpent knew himself and his enemy well but, Adam and Eve did not know themselves nor their enemy well: as a result they experienced spiritual and physical death just as God had promised them. But, was the Serpent onto something?

"And the YHWH God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever: Therefore the YHWH God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from whence he was taken. So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life."
- Genesis 3:22-24

On the surface it would seem that the crafty Serpent was correct but, upon further investigation we see that the Serpent knew about good and evil without having tasted the fruit himself! And because the Serpent was able to get Adam and Eve to question God's Word to them they questioned being made in His Image and Likeness. But did God really leave Adam and Eve without the knowledge of good and evil?

"And the YHWH God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die."
- Genesis 2:16-17

We see that God introduced Adam to the existence of evil with the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil and, He even told man that to eat from this Tree would bring about their death: this tells us that not even God, Wisdom, nor Jesus who were with Him ate of the forbidden fruit. We also see that the reason God drove man and woman from the garden of Eden was not because they knew about good and evil but, they would now recognize the wrong they had done and eat from the Tree of Life in order to avoid death: in so doing would annihilate the need for man to obey God for we would be immortal! Still something is missing here for, what would the Serpent have to gain from the death of Adam and Eve?
