The Lords birthday is here, it's the Christmas! No birthday of any legend, celebrity dead or alive receives so much attention and preparation in its build up as the Christmas. The Lord's birthday: the Christmas, is the biggest birthday there is and will ever be!
In the United States of America, it is estimated that 19% of the income made by the retail store's industries comes in during the month of December alone. Really it takes one to two months to adequately prepare for this birthday, the birthday of the Lord.
Growing up I remembered my parent would have bought 'our Christmas dress' as early as October! And as the days get nearer we eagerly anticipate and countdown to the greatest birthday of the greatest man who ever walked on the surface of the earth.
For thousands of years, his birth was prophesied and prepared for. Even from the early days of the first man, when Adam fell, God announced his intention to bring another 'Adam' to the scene. In Genesis 3:15 the word says, "And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel"(Genesis 3:15).
The seed, as Paul later explained in his epistles is Jesus! "Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, and to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ' (Galatians 3:16). He was the promised seed that will ultimately bruise the head of Satan and he did that when he went to the cross and took on our sin, though temporarily forsaken by the father on the cross and in death, but on the third day he rose from the dead in great power and is now seated on the right hand of God far above principalities and power and might and dominion. And God also has given him a name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow of things in heaven and on earth! Hallelujah!
Much more than these, all that the father has given to him we are privileged to share with him. For He " hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus” (Ephesians 2:6)
All redemptive benefits and blessings that we enjoy as believers today were initiated at Christmas. For on that fateful day(whether it be 25th of December or not), God's son left his father and came to the world to give us a new beginning. 'For God so loved the world that He gave us his only begotten son that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life'(John 3:16).
Christmas was the beginning of new life for humanity!
