It's The Lord's Birthday And Joy Is Here!

The original Christmas story is that of joy! One of my best read this season is found in the book of Luke 2:7-14. It’s a long read, but what other words to read than the one which blesses our heart and transforms our lives!

"And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn. And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men."

What makes this season what it is, is because Christ was born to deliver us from every crisis of life. He came so that we can have life and have it more abundantly! The Joy of this season is not that of wearing new clothes, new shoes, engaging in lavish spending and wantonness, it is the joy of having the lord in your heart! The joy of the Christmas is not the joy of what we have but the joy of whom we have - for Christ in us is the hope of glory(Colossians 1:26). This is the joy that should fill our heart this season!

Therefore, let no pressure of trying to meet up with the expectations of the world concerning Christmas takes away your joy. For whatever tampers with your joy devastates your destiny. Joel 1:12 proves this, "The vine is dried up, and the fig tree languisheth; the pomegranate tree, the palm tree also, and the apple tree, even all the trees of the field, are withered: because joy is withered away from the sons of men

Whatever takes away your joy takes away your life! Whatever corrupts your joy corrupt your heart and whatever corrupt your heart corrupts whatever fruits the earth supposed to yield to you. This moment I pray restoration of joy in your heart. True joy is not based on what is happening but what is written! And it is written that the son of God was manifested, at Christmas, for this purpose: that the works of the devil might be destroyed! And so the devils work in your life are destroyed! Amen. What other better reason do we need to have joy and celebrate!
