I woke from A DREAM: I was in my and my husband’s bedroom closet. My husband had thrown something metal, like a metal rack of some type, on my side of the closet, so I kept throwing it back on his side because it was his, not mine. This went back and forth several times and then one day when I threw this metal-looking object back in the corner on his side of the closet, I looked up and noticed all his things were removed. He was gone. It appeared he had moved out. END

Witnesses Summoned Against Israel
1 Hear this word the LORD has spoken against you, O people of Israel—against the whole family I brought up out of Egypt:
2 "You only have I chosen
of all the families of the earth;
therefore I will punish you
for all your sins."
3 Do two walk together
unless they have agreed to do so?
4 Does a lion roar in the thicket
when he has no prey?
Does he growl in his den
when he has caught nothing?
5 Does a bird fall into a trap on the ground
where no snare has been set?
Does a trap spring up from the earth
when there is nothing to catch?
6 When a trumpet sounds in a city,
do not the people tremble?
When disaster comes to a city,
has not the LORD caused it?
7 Surely the Sovereign LORD does nothing
without revealing his plan
to his servants the prophets.
8 The lion has roared—
who will not fear?
The Sovereign LORD has spoken—
who can but prophesy?
9 Proclaim to the fortresses of Ashdod
and to the fortresses of Egypt:
"Assemble yourselves on the mountains of Samaria;
see the great unrest within her
and the oppression among her people."
10 "They do not know how to do right," declares the LORD,
"who hoard plunder and loot in their fortresses."
11 Therefore this is what the Sovereign LORD says:
"An enemy will overrun the land;
he will pull down your strongholds
and plunder your fortresses."
12 This is what the LORD says:
"As a shepherd saves from the lion's mouth
only two leg bones or a piece of an ear,
so will the Israelites be saved,
those who sit in Samaria
on the edge of their beds
and in Damascus on their couches. "
13 "Hear this and testify against the house of Jacob," declares the Lord, the LORD God Almighty.
14 "On the day I punish Israel for her sins,
I will destroy the altars of Bethel;
the horns of the altar will be cut off
and fall to the ground.
15 I will tear down the winter house
along with the summer house;
the houses adorned with ivory will be destroyed
and the mansions will be demolished,"
declares the LORD.
My Understanding: My husband is representing the church (Israel) in this dream and I am representing the Lord. The closet represents the prayer closet, i.e. the altar of God. The metal rack-looking thing represents support through human strength; rules taught by man; and strongholds of Satan. I believe it also represents these clones and/or humanoids that the Lord has been telling me about – men made by man, so literally human idols. They are not God’s, they belong to man.
I looked over in that corner of my husband’s side of the closet to see if the Lord might be pointing to something specifically there for the purpose of this illustration and I saw two things. On the first level, hidden back in the corner behind some clothing, was a row of empty metal hangers. On the level above that was the American flag folded in the traditional triangle shape sitting on top of a box of storage. So, I believe the Lord is showing me the government of the USA that is on top of something hidden and stored away and that underneath the government are these empty metal hangers, i.e. these human robots.
If the church is “throwing” this metal object over to the Lord’s side of the closet, then I would say that the church is making these idols equal with or greater than God and/or it represents the church’s acknowledgement of these “fake” leaders as being real and thus they keep talking with the Lord as though these idols are creations of God whereas they are creations of man. As I was writing this dream, my husband did call me and he told me about how he had heard that Barack Obama and Michelle Obama had actually flown in separate planes when they went to the White House to see President Bush. The timing was such that I sensed the Lord saying that the specific object my husband and I were tossing back and forth was Obama.
In this passage of scripture, God asks seven rhetorical questions which were intended to illustrate how “certain events are inseparably connected. A second event does not happen unless it has been preceded by a necessary first event; once the first event has taken place the second is sure to follow” (TBKC). It ends with the Lord saying that when disaster strikes it is the Lord who caused it and that the Lord does nothing without revealing his plan to his servants. Once God makes the decision to bring judgment on a nation or a people group, the outcome is unavoidable. But, the purpose of the judgment is to lead God’s people to repent and to trust HIM.
The Lord is speaking here to the American government, which has hoarded plunder and have looted inside their own land. Now the Lord is going to bring an enemy against us who will overrun the land and who will pull down our strongholds; will plunder our fortresses; will destroy our idolatrous altars; and the horns, i.e. the fake leaders, will be cut off and will fall to the ground. I believe the Lord illustrated this with my husband’s belongings, including the American flag and the empty hangers, as well as the hangers with clothing, being completely removed as though he had vacated. Often the Lord will use my husband to illustrate our president as my husband is the head of our family so the president is the head of the American family.
The Lord, nonetheless, will not be completely merciless. He will save a remnant as a shepherd saves from the lion’s mouth two leg bones or a piece of an ear (see v.12). In this verse the Lord speaks of those who sit on the edge of their beds or on their couches, which gives a picture of complacency and a false hope or sense of security that nothing bad will happen. The Lord is dispelling that false sense of security here to show that not everyone is going to survive this, so we should not be complacent.
