It’s All About Jesus

Take a minute or two to walk through this important truth and once again confirm your dependence on Jesus and your dedication to follow him throughout your life.

When we’re successful, even at small things, it’s easy to feel self-important. That tiny bit of pride can pull us off in the wrong direction. This is why mature believers will always praise God for their success and acknowledge the true source of their talents.

“When pride comes, then comes dishonor, but with the humble is wisdom.” Proverbs 11:2 (NASB)

We are continually in the presence of the Lord and he alone is worthy to be exalted. Strong believers are firmly rooted in their walk with Jesus when humility is a hallmark of their demeanor.

“Humble yourselves in the presence of the Lord, and He will exalt you.” James 4:10 (NASB)

This complete dependency on God is a central factor in our salvation. Nothing we do is in our own power. Praise Jesus for providing a path to eternal life. This is well beyond our abilities and is therefore provided as a gift by the grace of God.

“For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast.” Ephesians 2:8-9 (NASB)

As a humble servant of the Lord, you will one day be rewarded for your faithfulness. It is the fact that you are working for God and not for the reward that renders you eligible for that exaltation.

“Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you at the proper time.” 1 Peter 5:6 (NASB)

This is a simple truth that cannot be overlooked.

“For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.” Luke 14:11 (NASB)

It’s all about Jesus. Those who claim to know God and don’t know Jesus are sadly mistaken. Everything we have, everything we achieve, every relationship we cherish is a gift from God. Our eternal reward is a gift from God – made possible through Jesus Christ.

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.” John 14:6 (NASB)

Salvation is the deliverance from God’s wrath and the reward of His favor. All who embrace the gospel message of the death and resurrection of Jesus for the forgiveness of sin are granted this new life. It’s all about Jesus.

“And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved.” Acts 4:12 (NASB)

Humble believers of the truth are well aware of their inadequacies and accept fully the simple fact that they are unworthy to stand in the presence of God. It is only through Jesus Christ that we have access to God.

“For there is one God, and one mediator also between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.” 1 Timothy 2:5 (NASB)

It’s all about Jesus.
