With the arrival of series 3 of this cult to series imminent ....
Sheryl Lee (Laura Palmer) was not scheduled to have a big part in the series beyond being a dead body and flash backs but the producers were so impressed with her The wrote her into the show as her own look a like cousin Maddie...who was also killed, wrapped in plastic and found near water...so she played two dead people, the only difference being her hair colour.
Aside from the music of the show being published in a cd a book of Laura Palmers diary was also published but did not reveal the killer. A tape of agent Coopers recordings to "Diane" who is never revealed on screen, was also created including some that were never heard on the show, for example his journey to Twin peaks and the fact that following a difficult plane journey he tells Diane his will is filed under "Things to come"
Agent coopers life prior to joining the bureau and events leading up to twin peaks were published in diary form however these were recordings he made through out his life
Lara Flynn Boyle (Donna Haywood) apparently did not get on with Sherilyn Fenn (Audrey Horne) which is why they share so little screen time together in the series. Lara was also dating Kyle Machlachlen at the time.
Kyle Machlachlen, Everett McGill (big Ed) and Jack Nance (Pete Martell ) all appeared in the 1984 film Dune which was also directed by David Lynch and produced by Joses Ferrer who is the father of Miguel Ferrer (Agent Rosenfeld)
Several key scenes were re filmed using different actors to hide from the cast who the real killer was and "Bob", played by Joel Da Silva was actually a set dresser which is why he does not speak in any of his scenes.
